This position manages a team of buyers to support complex manufacturing and ensure consistent supply of raw materials.  The Senior Manager will be the key point of contact for all direct procurement related activities. The role will involve working very closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure compliant, on-time supply of materials and pricing.

Position also involves organizing, planning and directing the procurement of materials and services to satisfy financial, quality and on-time delivery requirements, as well as planning, developing and implementing programs and strategies directed at achieving maximum dollar value for materials and services procured from domestic and international sources.

This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Senior Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning, optimizing and controlling the results from materials to increase the EVA (Economic Value Added).
  • Initiating procurement processes and pinpoints approaches to problem-solving. Actively supports a team of buyers in complex and difficult procedures.
  • Managing sourcing, supplier selection, evaluation, continued development of worldwide master supplier data through cross-functional teams.
  • Ensuring early integration in all procurement-related procedures.
  • Managing the derivation of individual objectives (budget, target/actual) from plant objectives under the anticipated market situations.
  • Managing the adaptation and implementation of efficient forms of organization, procedures and processes ensuring optimal productivity. 
  • Tracking, reporting and improving supplier performance in quality, delivery schedules, price, and provide direction on corrective action and improvement.  Providing regular reports on all aspects of the supply chain to include, inventory, delivery and shortages with recommendations for corrective action or improvement.
  • Maintaining complete ownership of material purchased throughout the manufacturing process. 
  • Utilizing and driving enhancements to improve control and efficiency (e.g. Digitalization). 
  • Creating, leading and managing a team of Buyers to assure the consistent availability of products and services to meet production requirements for instruments, services support and disposable products.  This involving managing multiple exempt-level employees.  This should be driven through performance management and employee engagement.

Required Education, Skills & Experience:

  • BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically 10+ years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge. 
  • Significant experience working in a GMP/ISO 9001 manufacturing facility with a fully implemented ERP system (preferably SAP).  Proven skills developing tools to chart and trend performance to metrics. 
  • Must demonstrate and apply advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for area managed and good knowledge of other areas in the company and how they interact. Advanced Microsoft application skills (Word, Powerpoint, and Excel - including creating/using complex formulas and pivot tables)
  • Proven leadership skills. Must demonstrate full understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, and performance management. 
  • Must demonstrates strong verbal and written communication.
