Application Support Engineer – Simcenter3D Mechanical Analysis

Position Overview 

As part of the sales organization, this role is responsible for leveraging their technical expertise and customer-relationship skills to assist in growing our software business.  Primary focus is on the alignment of Siemens Simcenter 3D Mechanical Analysis Solutions to address customer business issues and challenges.   The Application Engineer is responsible for executing and leading technical initiatives that are instrumental in facilitating the sales and adoption of Siemens Digital Industries Software (DISW).

This position provides opportunities for a significant amount of customer engagement in support of strategic sales pursuits. Excellent communication skills and a desire to work with clients are critical to success in this fast-paced and broad engineering role. •Work alongside the sales team to apply technical knowledge of the Simcenter 3D Simulation portfolio, leveraging a combination of application and domain expertise, to a variety of customers

•Conduct technical discussions with customers to collect and understand simulation requirements and propose solutions that clearly articulate the Siemens value proposition

•Develop and contribute to proof of concepts, demonstrations, trainings, and execute benchmarks of the Simcenter Portfolio  

•Assist in closing sales by demonstrating the value and benefits of solutions

•Contribute to the product development roadmap by evaluating current product functionality, identifying customer needs,   monitoring competitive products, analyzing and relaying customer requirements to the Siemens Simcenter Product   Development Organization

•Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations and speaking at technical trade shows or conferences

•Document pursuits for review to improve performance and success

Minimum Requirements:   

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field, with focus on computational methods, preferably in structural mechanics

•Experience using commercial Mechanical Analysis Tools, e.g.  Simcenter 3D, Simcenter Nastran, ANSYS Mechanical or Abaqus

•Motivated to learn, can quickly pick-up and demonstrate new ideas and concepts

•Self-driven individual with a positive attitude and ability to multi-task with a demonstrated history of success in a diverse, fast paced environment

•Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills 

•Ability to travel up to 20%

•Must currently reside in the continental USA

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

•Experience with Structural analysis; Pre and Post Processing FE Models; Dynamics; Advanced Nonlinear; Aeroelasticity; Composites; Durability; Optimization; Additive Manufacturing Simulation.

•Working knowledge of common design processes in one of the following industries: Aerospace, Automotive, Medical/Pharma, Electronics Cooling, Semi-Conductors, etc.

•Familiarity with state of the art CAD systems (preferably NX CAD)   

•Familiarity with PLM systems application, configuration and usage

•Experience with Salesforce
