This role is a key position within the SFS Operations team responsible for the delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives. It will play an important role in helping to foster a culture of sustainable change through the creation and embedding of CPI methodology, and the supporting framework, to deliver business transformation. Focused on the monitor and improvement of processes to make them as efficient as possible. 
The main goal of the role is to facilitate Operational Excellence progress across operations and reduce costs, primarily around workflow inefficiencies, remove waste and low-value activities and recommend solutions. Guided by CPI methodologies, take the lead in implementing changes, acting as leader, manager, and coach.


The position is based in our Stoke Poges office.

 • To assist in the development and implementation of a ‘best-in-class’ continuous improvement Operational Excellence strategy. Work with key operations stakeholders to develop short-long term strategies incorporating Six Sigma, LEAN, Agile and other practices to build a continuous improvement environment/culture to support an ongoing programme of change
• To elicit requirements and drive process change using staff interviews/side-by-side workflow review, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, business analysis and workflow analysis 
• To support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within operations processes through employing process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking and identification of better ways of working
• To coordinate and lead key projects for improvement, actively monitor project risks to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address in advance including initiatives to generate ideas from all levels.
• To analyse existing business processes using various methods such as gap analysis or PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act). Identify opportunities for improvement as well as losses, work with Managers and teams to troubleshoot further to determine root causes, drive ideas and solutions. To identify trends and process variations as part of establishing a continuous improvement monitoring system 
• To work with other team members to devise new support material based on the revised processes, to include training, reporting and systems enhancements 
• To ensure the business impact and project objectives/dependencies are identified, reported on and managed at all times. Establish measurable standards at the start of a project and then compare actual results against these, regularly generating update reports.
• To complete post implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and to ensure that improvements can be made for future projects 
• Specifically review all Quality measures and performance in line with industry regulations and SFS policies.

• Minimum accredited Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt 
• Proven continuous improvement analytical experience from a similar role, ideally within a service-based business, including project management and business analysis
Experienced in the use various CPI tools:
Six Sigma, LEAN, Kaizen, Total Quality Management Agile
•Analytical thinking – Ability to critically evaluate individual processes and projects, then summarise insights to arrive at a clear status. Use problem-solving skills to foresee obstacles
•Technical expertise – Have a firm understanding of process improvement techniques and experience applying these to make organizational changes
•Organization skills – Ability to coordinate planning and implementation stages of multiple projects, so they must be organized and committed to meeting deadlines
•Leadership skills – ability to coach and inspiring other team members to give their best effort and setting the direction for many initiatives
•Communication skills – being able to speak, listen, and write well is important, linked to making presentations, facilitating meetings and trainings, and creating reports. Excellent communication skills able to clearly express complex ideas.
