Siemens Large Drives Application Business Unit is looking for a dynamic leader for our Repair Shop for Medium and High Voltage Motors in Kansas City! In this role you will have

This General Manager role has full P&L responsibility and day-to-day operations of the Kansas City Motor Repair Center. The facility in Kansas City, Missouri is the National Siemens-owned repair center for ANEMA medium/high voltage motors and transformers.

Position Overview

Lead the local office support staff, shop floor repair technicians and field service team to meet and exceed customer expectations, company financial and operational targets and employee engagement / satisfaction.

Critical interpersonal interfaces include Manufacturing Plants in Norwood, Ohio and HQ, Sales/Marketing, Procurement, Finance, Product Management, Research & Development, Order Entry, Logistics, EHS and Human Resources

Responsibilities and Specific Requirements:

  • Lead Zero Harm Safety Culture and metrics
  • Work closely with the business segment and headquarters to implement global repair strategies to increase sales volume and improve customer experience.
  • Collaborate with Sales to deliver growth targets, participate in sales efforts with key customers.
  • Support the defining and implement repair sales initiatives to increase repair volume
  • Leading costs expectations of the site with improvements in processes allowing the repair center to improve it costs position
  • Reduce Repair cycle times and number of Non-Conformance Failures
  • Ensuring diversity, inclusion and involvement
  • Ensuring that the repair center is best-in-class and stays in sync with all regulations with respect to Safety & Quality
  • Ensuring excellent customer satisfaction by providing products & services timely and with the highest quality
  • Achieving the right cost position in the factory through: standardization, performance management, efficient inventory turns, minimal non-conformance costs, high utilization, efficiency & productivity, controlling budget & expenses/spending, excellent employee/labor relations
  • Assessing the strength and opportunities of the day-to-day operations and being able to develop appropriate strategies to transform into World Class Operations
  • Having a continuous improvement approach
  • Having results & quality orientation, along with being a champion for organizational change
  • Building a strong team in Operations – with good bench-strength
  • Developing & mentoring the Operations Management/Leadership team to tackle new and greater challenges in Operations
  • Being able to communicate to shop-floor employees, customers & executives, both written and verbal
  • Experience with six sigma or LEAN methodologies is a plus
  • This position requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption

Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. We will consider a HS Diploma/GED with experience in lieu of BS Degree.

Knowledge and Experience:
  • About 10-%15% travel required, visiting customers, suppliers or partners.
  • SAP, Excel, Power Point, Word
  • Demonstrates sophisticated understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, and performance management.
  • Typically 10+ years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Experience in electric machines or rotating equipment is helpful.
