Position Overview:

As part of the sales organization, this role is responsible for leveraging their technical expertise and customer-relationship skills to assist in growing our software business. Primary focus is on the alignment of Siemens Simcenter Mechanical Analysis Solutions to address customer business issues and challenges. The Application Engineer is responsible for executing and leading technical initiatives that are instrumental in facilitating the sales and adoption of Siemens Digital Industries Software (DISW).

This position provides opportunities for a significant amount of customer engagement in support of strategic sales pursuits. Excellent communication skills and a desire to work with clients are critical to success in this fast-paced and broad engineering role. Responsibilities:

* Work alongside the sales team to apply technical knowledge of the Simcenter Simulation portfolio, leveraging a combination of application and domain expertise, to a variety of customers in the Turbomachinery Industry

* Develop and contribute to proof of concepts, demonstrations, trainings, and execute benchmarks of the Simcenter Portfolio

* Assist in closing sales by demonstrating the value and benefits of solutions

* Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to sales and technical teams

* Train and mentor client technical leads and subject matter experts in the application of the Simcenter products

* Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations and speaking at technical trade shows or conferences.

Minimum Requirements:

*Qualified Applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States. Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.

*At least 3 or more years of experience using commercial Mechanical Analysis Tools, (Simcenter 3D, Simcenter Nastran, ANSYS Mechanical or Abaqus)

* BS, MS or PhD Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.

* Self-driven individual with a positive attitude and ability to multi-task with a demonstrated history of success in a diverse, fast paced environment

* Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills

* Ability to travel up to 20%

* Must currently reside in the continental USA

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

* Working knowledge of common design & simulation processes in the Turbomachinery industry

* Experience in non-linear simulations such as contact, plasticity, creep

* Familiarity with state-of-the-art CAD systems (preferably NX CAD)

* Familiarity with PLM systems application, configuration and usage

* Programming Skills
