Building Products is a leading manufacturer for Building Automation Products and Systems, as well as Fire Safety & Security Systems. BP designs and manufactures systems for building automation as well as products for heating, ventilation, air conditioning applications, for lighting, blinds controls, fire safety/extinguishing systems, security systems and building software.  Building Products (BP) is looking for a National Sales Manager focused on driving product, system & software  sales initiatives through the Siemens RSS RAM branch organization and delivering profitable growth for our Building Products business. The geography responsibility includes all of the US and Canada. Home base for the candidate is flexible, with a requirement to live near a major airport.  Travel expectation is 20%+.  The National Sales Manager will report to the Head of BP Americas and will have multiple direct reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish business and sales strategy for BP into the RSS channel.
  • Manage and establish strategic direction for a team of BDM’s towards local growth plans and train and support the RSS Field in their efforts to sell BP products.
  • Work closely with both HQ based RSS Management and the RSS Field organization to represent and promote BP and BP products.
  • Be a culture & change leader for collaboration of BP & RSS
  • Collaborate with BP Segment Heads and the BP 3rd party channel to develop a strategic sales plan for RSS that covers the entire BP product portfolio.
  • Define strategies and business plans to increase market share growth with RSS and to meet or exceed corporate sales targets.
  • Drive growth with products, systems and software and act as an ambassador for the RSS business.
  • Train RSS Branches on product value propositions, selling strategies, applications, and pricing strategies, and remove roadblocks to their success.
  • Identify needs related to training, tools, marketing, and logistics to drive growth.
  • Manage the Engineering Advantage team, which is responsible for creating tools and content that assist all channels in working with the consulting engineering community and increasing the specification rate for Siemens Automation products.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships, publish success stories and build up a network of trust.
  • Shape overall BP AM product strategy as active member of BP US Management team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing or other related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 10+ years of sales and management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and direct personnel toward achievement of a common goal.
  • A leader who understands and practices employee engagement as a method to advance change and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Strong customer orientation
  • Knowledge of industry with Building Automation, Fire Safety and Security
  • Experience working for RSS RAM is a plus
  • Excellent relationship building skills and collaboration skills
  • Account Management and Business Development experience
  • Excellent initiative, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time.
