What you'll do

  • As a Supply Chain Excellence Manager, you'll be responsible for leading and deploying the Siemens Performance System for Production and Logistics (SPS@PL) with a focus on lean management, six sigma, digitalization and automation, thus systematically increasing the profit contribution and process efficiency
  • Lead 2-3 high impact supply chain projects on an annual basis
  • Advise Supply Chain Director and SCM Financial Controller on lean, digitalization, six sigma and automation strategy and implementation
  • Lead a team of 2-3 talented Lean, digitization, automation and six sigma experts 
  • Lead quarterly supply chain strategy planning (Hoshin-Kanri) and ensure all lean activities are linked to the business objectives
  • Execute the sites digital transformation roadmap in collaboration with the site management team
  • Assume overall responsibility for complex cross-functional projects (X-Matrix) focusing on Manufacturing and Logistics optimization, drive accountability for continuous improvement project completion
  • Develop lean coaching capability among leaders, frontline supervisors, and functional management to drive ongoing improvement in their respective functions
  • Ensure ongoing progress of the organization’s lean, six sigma, automation and digitalization transformation
  • Deepen the organization’s cultural maturity with regards to lean thinking and acting

What you'll need

  • The position requires lean implementation experience and six sigma knowledge to support supply chain and manufacturing management team
  • Strong business acumen, judgement, and maturity with ability to differentiate strategic versus non-strategic opportunities and to connect continuous improvement outcomes to key business strategies
  • Proven success designing, implementing, communicating, and meeting policy deployment goals, including improving through-put, shortening cycle time, improving inventory turns and reducing supply chain costs.
  • Strong bias for hands-on, direct involvement at the Gemba as the primary means of engagement with the organization, whether among the customer support call center, factory floor, distribution center, field warehouse, logistics staff, supplier location or customer site
  • Champion for change, taking a lead role to drive out waste throughout all value streams and building a coalition of employee support shifting the culture toward a mindset of improving every process every day at every level
  • Change agent capable to drive change at multiple levels of the organization through influencing others toward improvement, adaption, and innovation on goal-oriented challenges

Required Experience & Skills

  • B.S in a related Engineering or Business discipline
  • 10+ years of lean or six sigma experiences (Hoshin-Kanri, value stream mapping, visual management, structured problem solving, leading standardization) and strategy as well as extensive experience in developing lean coaching capabilities among team leaders, frontline supervision, and middle management
  • 5+ years of experience successfully managing a function in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience in automation and digitalization in a supply chain environment and leveraging data to influence decisions
  • Process oriented, systems thinking, strong manufacturing and distribution experience
  • Excellent presentation skills with solid oral and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Experienced influencer/negotiator with team members, peers, and management.
  • Able to combine aggressive initiative with professional discipline and demeanor to accomplish difficult tasks through other people.
  • In-depth understanding of quality concepts and principles

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Formal Lean training - either through direct consulting experience or via organizations with deep, well-established lean performance systems
  • MBA
  • SAP experience
