The Application Project Manager provides Project Management for automation projects and may support other highly complex projects. The person in this role will collaborate with stakeholders, customers, and teams internally and externally. This role may also be assigned special projects to benefit TAO nationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Serves as Project Manager on automation projects and highly complex projects

• Leads all Siemens and customer activities on IDN/consolidator & multi-site implementation projects

• Coordinate conference calls and/or face to face meetings with all those involved on implementation projects

• Drives all communication on projects both internally and with customers, keeping all parties informed and drive projects to maximum efficiencies, including best install times with optimum customer satisfaction.  

• Possess the ability to do formal presentations in front of large groups of Siemens personnel or customers

• Use standardized tools for managing projects & communication where appropriate and have working knowledge of regulatory agency requirements specific to the clinical laboratory environment


• Proven track record of managing projects of various scale and complexity

• Proven record of developing the overall project plan with all stakeholders, working with functional managers to assign resources, and managing project activities to ensure successful completion of projects

• Possess ability to do formal presentations in front of large groups of stakeholders

• Strong complex problem solving skills and ability to translate technical issues into non-technical terms

• Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently, accept responsibility and prioritize without significant management intervention

• Professional attitude, comfortable working in large corporate setting populated with diverse types of people, maintain pose and a sense of humor in stressful situations with assurance and confidence

• Preferred experience with laboratory automation and informatics, project management software, networking and interface protocols.  

• Preferred History of managing projects within the healthcare and laboratory diagnostic arenas 

Education / Knowledge / Experience

• BS/BA in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience

• PMP certification required or working towards it

• Additional certification may be required in some areas

• PMP certification or extensive project management knowledge required

• Fluency in English

• Strong leadership, listening, verbal and written communication skills

• Skills to guide the team towards a high-performance culture

• Display high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross functional problems

• Results oriented to ensure achievement of the targeted profit, customer satisfaction and market share goals

• Demonstrate analytical skills for market intelligence management and targeted execution of measures

• Work effectively as a team, motivating colleagues and team members to produce the best results
