This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Procurement Engineering Professional, you will be responsible for:

  • You will operate as procurement lead on cross functional teams (R&D, QA, Supply Chain Manufacturing, New Product Development) with the responsibility to deliver a strategically aligned supply chain
  • You will drive and manage key procurement projects such as supplier transfers and DtC productivity projects
  • You will lead supplier involvement activities on key development projects
  • You will drive design to cost, DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) activities with suppliers and design teams
  • You will work with Commodity Management to identify and implement supplier changes to reduce risk and costs, improve performance and optimize parts
  • You will execute request for quotations, supplier selection, and material tracking process to support the pre-production builds for new product development projects

  • You have strong collaboration, persuasion/influencing, and project management skills, and the ability to drive supplier change projects on a cross-functional basis
  • You understand various supplier manufacturing technology and processes, supplier controls and industry standards.
  • You have specialist knowledge and work experience of particular related commodities (electronics, metal fabrication/machining, plastic molding, etc)
  • You have proven negotiation and influencing skills with suppliers, with demonstrative results in securing competitive pricing and overall terms and conditions
  • You demonstrated experience establishing strong business relationships with suppliers and influencing decisions
  • You have prior experience working in a new product development environment
  • You have excellent oral communications and business writing skills
  • You have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and quality related documents and discuss them with suppliers
  • You are driven, self-directing, goal oriented and able to prioritize workload in an agile environment
  • You have typically 5-10 years of experience in medical device, automotive, aerospace, or related field, optimally within a Manufacturing, Engineering or Procurement Engineering role

Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in medical device, automotive, aerospace, or related field, optimally within a Manufacturing, Engineering or Procurement Engineering role
  • Primary degree in Engineering or related Science discipline; Consideration may also be given to individuals with a Business, Procurement or Supply Chain degree with demonstrable extensive relevant Technical experience.
  • Advanced degree is an advantage
  • Willing to travel up to 20%
