Job Description

Siemens Large Drives Applications Business Unit is looking for a multifaceted Project Manager that has R&D and Customer service Experience.

In this role you will be responsible for establishing and managing budgets, developing and managing project timelines, and delivering the committed requirements all while leading product quality and scope.

Leads the success of the project team and will be responsible to report the progress to management. They will be the “face” of the project. Projects may include new product developments, series production, customer service retrofits/critical issues, and special projects.

Apply the Siemens Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process to lead development projects from requirements development to product release as well as handle customer service projects and lead product phase out activities.

Have a technical engineering background, so they are able to ask the right questions and participate in requirements analysis, design discussions, test planning, product cost analysis, etc. The Project Manager will not be performing design activities himself/herself, but they must have a solid understanding of new product development projects and be able to understand the product, the applications, end user needs. Empower, challenge and lead the project team.

Responsibilities:
  • You will lead and guide a multi-discipline team within a project to meet product requirements, cost targets and product features, while ensuring a high quality design is released timely to support project landmark and budget
  • You will collaborate with all aspects of Siemens internal teams and departments such as Sales, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Purchasing, Customer Service, etc…
  • Primary project customer interface
  • Ensures that project and production requirements are met
  • Leads the scope of work to ensure that all results are fulfilled on time and within budget
  • Maintains and supervises project margin throughout project lifecycle
  • Develops sophisticated project/program plans
  • Coordinates project communications internally and externally (reporting, correspondence, meetings, etc.)
  • Forecasts (with team) and handles risks and opportunities
  • Leads change orders
  • Verifies, requests, and acquires customer acceptance of the system
  • Maintains lessons learned throughout the entirety of the project
  • Closes the project at completion and archives project files
  • Perform some project/product coordinator functions (update product delivery dashboards and provide new order forms, etc..)
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business or combined experience.
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of personalities
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with Risk management - opportunities, risk mitigation, appropriate planning to reduce impact of potential risks etc
  • Highly multifaceted, flexible and adaptable personality
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion
  • Strong problem solving skills; Ability to learn quickly
  • Solid track record of completing projects on time, on budget, and satisfying all performance/quality requirements
  • Proficient in MS Projects
  • Experience with SAP
  • Ability to lead multiple projects
  • Strong focus on customer’s perspective when setting priorities and taking action; implementing service practices

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • 5-10 years of project management experience.
  • Engineering or technical background
  • Knowledge and experience w/ MV variable frequency drive systems
  • Experience with managing Design to Cost projects
  • Experience with Agile Project Management techniques
  • PM@Siemens or PMP certification
