What part will you play?


What are my responsibilities?

The function is based in Nanjing, China in our brand new Lean Digital Lighthouse factory. Functionally, you will be part of Siemens DI MC Business Unit´s Global Value Chain (Manufacturing) Team and report to DI MC´s Global Head of Value Chain. Overall, the global team you will be part of is responsible for 16 MC factories.

In this role, as a consultant/high level expert you will actively drive & enable the transformation of our 5 Chinese DI MC factories towards sustainably productive best in class LEAN and DIGITAL (industry 4.0) E2E processes and standards in Logistics, Production Flow optimization (Push-Pull transformation) and Production Planning/Control. You will…

  • Initiate and lead process improvement and process transformation projects, in close collaboration with factory management and relevant business stakeholders. Doing so, you continuously challenge existing processes, identify in a structured way any unnecessary processes. Using your deep expertise in lean to convince the teams to transform local processes towards holistically and sustainably optimal processes and towards smart, modular digitalization. Setting optimized target state value streams & processes, bringing KPI improvement and visible productivity increase
  • Provide consulting and expert coaching support to the teams from target setting through implementation towards the target state, including change management
  • Drive global strategic programs for factory digitalization within MC´s Chinese factories in the focus area of logistics, e.g. digital twin of E2E logistic processes, automated warehouse, transport with AGV, RPA, Artificial Intelligence, closed loop communication between shopfloor devices
  • Identify, share, and institutionalize best practices and standards for MC factories` logistic and production planning/control processes

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • University degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or Business administration
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills and expert level in project management & project leadership
  • You bring many years of proven knowledge and practical experience in LEAN, LEAN Logistics and Process improvement. Having done many value stream optimization and CIP projects and lean transformations, including change management. You also have a very good knowledge & experience in Production Control/Planning
  • Experience in management consulting and people leadership is very beneficial
  • You have gained first experience with production and logistic process digitalization
  • You have strong communication skills, on all levels from factory head to team leader production. With demonstrated ability to motivate others and achieve results: Jointly with all stakeholders you can initiate process transformations, develop + address improvement potentials and convince teams to change towards leaner, digitalized and more standardized processes and to convince your stakeholders of new solutions (change management)
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP systems (MM, SD, EWM, PP, APO, IBP)
  • You are used to work in international, cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel for process improvement projects to MC´s Chinese factories
  • Fluency in English and Chinese (written and verbal) – reporting line to business unit headquarter is in English
