This role is a key position within the Sales function of Siemens Mobility Limited Rail Infrastructure business.

The role reports to the Head of Product Sales, working closely with the senior manufacturing management team and has sales assistance responsibilities across the whole of the RI Sales team to ensure a broad level of exposure and experience. 

The geography of the job is mostly the UK but do have some overseas customers that are managed by other local Siemens offices, therefore integration with these offices is also required. 

What are my responsibilities?
  • Engage in client dialogue for the purpose of business development, building relationships, negotiation of frameworks and contracts to gain contract sign off
  • Management and promotion of our on-line shopping tool called Mobase; this involves some marketing and selling of the tool to customers as well as back office management such as maintaining lead times, stock levels and product pricing
External and Internal Sales Lead
  • Proactively approaching clients to understand what products they might need for future projects
  • Able to understand the pain of the client and provide a product or solution that fits the problem
  • Follow the Siemens tendering procedure to gain tender sign off, this will include conducting presentations to senior directors of the business to gain their support
  • Write product quotations/offers
  • Some expediting of purchase orders to satisfy the client needs
  • Maintain the on-line product sales tool Mobase
  • Support the development of railway infrastructure opportunity win strategies to position the organisation to secure new business
  • Support ‘day to day’ internal requirements to meet business processes, reporting for across the UK and global businesses
Customer Engagement
  • Attend client meetings (internal and external)
  • Grow sales 
  • Be responsible for key KPI’s such as order intake targets
  • Grow overall customer satisfaction as well as revenues from key accounts
  • Support the ‘voice of the customer’ to ensure their outcomes, benefits and aspirations are understood and support the communication effectively to inform new technology developments within Siemens Mobility Limited
What do I need to qualify for this role?
  • Sales or customer focused experience in a large-scale technology or project delivery business (essential)
  • Successful track record of customer and business value-based business development (essential)
  • Good knowledge of railway signalling (essential)
  • Commercially astute with high degree of integrity (essential)
  • Highly ambitious and agile (essential)
  • Results focused; determined and resilient (essential)
  • Strong negotiating skills (essential)
  • Creative thinker who is used to working under pressure and to tight/challenging deadlines (essential)
  • Good presentation skills and confident when talking to senior management and customers (essential)
  • A good technical knowledge is also an advantage
