What will you do?

Siemens Logistics Canada Ltd. is seeking an experienced higher-level sales and marketing professional to fulfill key leadership role as Director of Business Development. This key role reports directly to the CEO of Siemens Logistics Ltd. You will provide leadership and be responsible for increasing revenues, growth in terms of business expansion, increasing profitability by building strategic partnerships and making strategic business decisions. Key duties include:

  • Coordinating with company executives, sales and marketing professionals, reviewing current market trends and proposing new business ideas to improve revenue.
  • Managing both our existing sales pipeline and developing new business opportunities
  • Take a lead role in the development of proposals and presentations for new business materials to create and nurture business opportunities and partnerships
  • Identify trends and customer needs, building a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline in accordance with targets
  • Develop strategies and positions by analyzing new venture integration
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies, and delegate tasks that achieve strategic goals
  • Motivate the team, track performance, and report metrics

Detailed Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and research potential clients
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Coordinate with sales teams to develop mutually beneficial proposals
  • Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with stakeholders
  • Monitor project teams to ensure contracts are executed as agreed
  • Gather useful information from customer and competitor data
  • Develop and deliver presentations to prospective clients and internal executives
  • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers and meet regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss strategy
  • Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs from various sources
  • Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select the deals in line with strategies, and lead and facilitate pitch logistics
  • Develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the company
  • Support deal structure and pricing with business value analysis; negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals
  • Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations

What will you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or management required. MBA is highly preferred
  • 10+ years successful track record in B2B sales and negotiation
  • Experience with CRM software (i.e. Salesforce)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to deliver executive-level presentations
  • High emotional IQ
  • Working experience with sales techniques
  • Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • People leadership skills and experience; Proven ability to plan and manage resources
