This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Biochemist II, you will be responsible for:

  • You may lead or participate in process and/or design change projects.  You will follow written protocols, prepare validation and/or test results reports, and work with cross functional teams.
  • You may lead or participate in investigation of escalated complaints and manufacturing issues.  You will coordinate and perform investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • You may create of participate in design of experiments.
  • You will provide guidance to technicians and lead troubleshooting during production of commercial products.
  • You will coordinate and perform data analysis and write internal reports and documentation.
  • You may lead a team or directly investigate the performance of new or re-formulated assay and manufacturing processes.
  • You may lead a team or directly investigate the performance of raw materials for use in manufacture of Chemistry/Immunoassay products.
  • You may work in laboratory running automated chemistry/immunoassay analyzers with serum and other biological fluids of human and animal origin.

  • You have good management and people skills, working with cross function teams to meet project milestones.
  • You have good understanding and knowledge of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies and principles of immunodiagnostic technologies as well as experience with immunoassays.
  • You have demonstrated ability to interpret data and to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.  Protein chemistry and chromatography knowledge and experience are desirable.
  • You have experience with automated immunoassay analyzers and/or ELISA, chemiluminescecnt technology, Western Blot, SDS-PAGE.
  • You have proficiency in using Microsoft Office, Minitab and 6-sigma are a plus.
  • You have a strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are a team player, are flexible and have demonstrated the ability to switch priorities to meet business needs.

Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Medical Technology, Biology or related disciplines with 2-5 years of job-related experience.
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) may be substituted for experience.
