Data Visualization Analyst - Manufacturing

Siemens is seeking a talented and motivated Data Analyst to join our North America Operations team. We are building a state-of-the-art analytics platform for operations intelligence. We have enormous amounts of data, and we want to give meaning to it and help our teams to make data driven, real time decisions. This person will conduct full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities, and design. They will develop the infrastructure, analysis, reporting and visualization capabilities. They will also monitor performance to identify improvements.

What you will do:

• Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
• Understand the KPIs required for operations and establish a standard approach to operations performance – across multiple locations.
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
• Filter and “clean” data by reviewing contents and performance indicators to locate and correct data problems.
• Conducts data exploration and identifies relevant data sets and new relations in data.
• Develops, tests & validates data analytics prototypes in QA environments. Communicates results to answer targeted business questions.
• Selection, Installation & Configuration of visualization systems for performance dashboards.
• Work with central DA team to incorporate Operations use cases & datasets into larger corporate data lake initiative.
• Create and conduct trainings for operation teams to build competencies – transitioning to a more ‘digital culture’.
• Interpret data for manufacturing, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing transparency.
• Determines sustainable process to support fast growing data volumes, ensuring data quality and accessibility.
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

What you will need:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant Manufacturing field (Industrial engineering).
• Record of accomplishments in Data Analytics.
• Ability to understand the manufacturing environment and the associated financial processes; Knowledge of supply chain, receiving, inventory flow, operations process and manufacturing principles.
• Business process design/mapping experience.
• Excellent Excel, Knime, SQL, Tableau and data modeling skills. Ability to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data.
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong self-starter and leader who can articulate effectively to management and peers to bring about effective change.
• Effective communication skills both written and oral.
• Naturally curious; seeks out answers by diving deep into the data.
• An excellent communicator who loves to share findings and actionable insights.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
• Must be able to collaborate and build positive relationships with internal cross functional teams, and external technology partners.
• Action-oriented and solution-driven with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multi-task and drive actions to completion under strict deadlines.
