As the Site Controller, you will be responsible for leading a group of finance professionals, providing

financial direction, reporting, and control to Siemens Healthineers Mishawaka manufacturing operation.

This role is a manger role and reports to the VP Controller, POC Supply Chain Management and will

directly manage a group of finance professionals. This key leadership role will closely partner with the

Vice President of Site Operations in setting the leadership tone for the whole site, including but not

limited to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Performance (Cost) and People. As an integral part of the

site leadership team, the incumbent will drive operational excellence, provide opportunity, and risk

analysis, evaluations, and interpretations on all aspects of manufacturing operations, initiate meetings

with manufacturing management to resolve cost problems and recommend cost management concepts,

to facilitate cost target attainment.

The facility in Mishawaka, Indiana, is a key strategic growth site for Point of Care. It is a reagent

manufacturing facility with a high degree of automation. Mishawaka manufactures the reagent products

that support Point of Care’s world leading status in Decentralized Urine Analysis and Diabetes Care. In

addition, Mishawaka has been chosen as the reagent manufacturing site for our new world first product,

in our Critical Care franchise, VTLi, within the Cardiac product line. The first reagent from this portfolio is

planned to launch in FY22 as the first high sensitivity troponin test at the point of care, with a lab

equivalent test result in just 8 minutes with a fingerstick sample. To support the anticipated growth,

Point of Care have committed to investing significant capital over the next 5 years with facility

development and additional automated manufacturing lines.

The Site Controller will ensure attainment of cost objectives within the guidelines of corporate policies,

procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles (standards). You will provide analytical,

forecasting, budgeting, and financial guidance, and support to all functions at the site. They will also

fulfil all Corporate, Point of Care, and Statutory reporting requirements and act as strategic partner to

the senior management team as well as a member of the Point of Care manufacturing financial

organization. You will also work closely with the wider Point of Care finance team, Healthineers

accounting hub, and auditors, to deliver the various reporting requirements of the site.

Key Responsibilities:


·        Direct and/or prepare all financial statements, reports, and analysis for the site

·        Recruit, manage, and develop the site finance staff to ensure an uninterrupted and efficient

accounting operation

·        Review all corporate & statutory financial statements, reports, and analysis for the site in

conjunction with Siemens Healthineers. Liaise and interface with external and internal auditors

and provide all necessary information and process support

·        Direct and participate in the annual plant budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

processes, ensuring compliance to timetables and procedures

·        Direct the development of accurate product costing and variance reporting, implementing

improvements to reporting and systems as required

·        Participate as an integral part of the Plant management team, providing financial analyses,

evaluations, and interpretations on all aspects of manufacturing operations. Initiate meetings

with manufacturing management to resolve cost problems and recommend cost management

concepts, methods, and procedures to facilitate operational controls

·        Establish and maintain effective internal control procedures and systems, including compliance

monitoring in accordance with corporate policies and SFRG (Siemens Financial Reporting

Guidelines). Review of Plant capital asset requests and preparation/validation of associated

financial analysis. Responsible for management and results of local annual audit

·        Lead the site finance team in the digitalization of finance processes and the management of

data using automation with the intent of presenting complex data in a simple format to aid


·        Be the Finance lead on strategic projects such as new product development, make or buy

decisions etc., CIP and other site initiatives as required

·        Work with colleagues from other sites/within POC to ensure best practices are either shared

with other sites or adopted from other sites, including driving adoption of best practices to


·        Drive collaborative leadership between POC SCM colleagues and act not only as an advocate of

the Mishawaka site, but also as a leader within POC

·        Participate in and take an active role as a member of both the Diagnostics Finance Leadership

Team and the Point of Care Extended Leadership Team

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·        Technical accounting strength resulting from extensive financial experience in a multinational or

matrixed organization

·        Business acumen built from extensive experience in leadership roles in a multinational or

matrixed organization

·        Strong leadership experience with the ability to influence key stakeholders (team, leadership

team, employees, HQ, peers, external parties), to give the business a strong financial presence in

the leadership team, and to collaborate to share best practice and to be open to receiving new

ideas to bring into the business (financially and operationally)

·        Experience in leading through digitalization, with a track record of automating processes and

eliminating non-value added work

·        Successful change management experience

·        Manufacturing and financial reporting experience with knowledge of product costing techniques

and inventory accounting/management is preferred

·        Knowledge of IAS, US GAAP


·        ERP systems knowledge, preferably SAP

·        Accounting profession accreditation, MBA, CPA, or equivalent qualification will be preferred

·        BA/BS Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent qualification

·        Successfully manage multiple priorities and reporting requirements

·        Knowledge of MS Office, including Excel to Advanced level
