C++/cloud Software Engineer - Advanced

Job Description

Are you an advanced C++ engineer looking to level up to working on sophisticated software products hosted in the cloud? This position is for an Advanced Software Engineer building commercial CAD applications, Siemens' NX and Teamcenter! 

Specifically, to design, develop, modify, and implement software for products (both internal and external) with focus on surpassing customer expectations, on achieving high quality and on-time delivery. Responsible for ensuring the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms and mechanism. Ability to understand complex products, solutions, and problems. Creates, documents, and implements software designs which may involve complicated workflows or multiple product areas. Technical lead of one or more projects within the product. Provides guidance to the technical direction for one area of a product. Occasionally advises customers in regard to future upgrades and products. Provides specialized expertise within multiple systems, software subject areas, as well as general knowledge of related fields, applications implications, and customer areas. Works with minimal direction on complex projects with wide latitude for independent judgment. Highly skilled with extensive proficiency and technical expertise. Exposure to PDM and CAD systems is helpful!

  • Maintains existing software code and resolves customer and internally reported problems
  • Able to write clean, robust and maintainable code to minimize the cost of defects over time.
  • Works with customers to understand and improve existing code for their area.
  • Follows the various steps in the SDLC process including writing design documents and coding.:
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other numerate discipline from a reputed institute.
  • Understanding of core IT, software development, and agile concepts
  • Must have a solid understanding of C++. Minimum of 2+ years of programming experience in C++.
  • Proactive business and leadership skills, including strong collaborative skills
  • Excellent oral/written communication and listening skills, necessary to present information, analysis and recommendations to all levels of employees (including management and executives) and customers.
  • Knowledge of advanced data structures, object oriented analysis and design.
  • Must have proven skills in design and programming.
  • Experience with NX or Teamcenter preferred
  • Experience in Java and/or C# is helpful
  • Familiarity with AWS EC2, S3 and IAM services, including standard methodologies for infrastructure and data security
  • Experience with Database Development helpful
