Junior Category Manager

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Junior Category Manager is responsible for executing departmental objectives including but not limited to:

 

 Sourcing:  Developing RFPs, qualifying potential suppliers, determining appropriate strategies for sourcing, facilitation of eEvents.

 

Negotiation:  Utilize preparation and planning, subject matter knowledge, communication skills, and negotiation tactics to achieve best possible pricing and terms

 

Contract Management:  Develop agreements based on existing templates, identify critical Ts&Cs, and work with requestors or technical experts to complete Scope of Work.  Successfully negotiate agreements with suppliers. Ensure business and supplier adherence to existing agreements.

 

Analysis:  Utilize critical thinking skills, analysis tools, spreadsheets, and collaboration to assess spend and opportunities

 

 Supplier Management:  Own the relationship with the supplier for CS business by driving performance and innovation, facilitating business reviews, pursue corrective actions and claims, maintaining active pricing, and assessing risk.

 

 Generate Savings: Identify opportunities, implement actions, and clearly document results

 

          

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE 

·       BS/BA in related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·       Strong analytical ability including Excel proficiency

·       Highly collaborative self-starter

·       Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
