Siemens Mobility is adding a Maintenance Engineer to our team. In this key role, you will collaborate with maintenance technicians and support as well as implement in the areas of planning, scheduling, analyzing and supervising the preventative maintenance, repairs and installation of sophisticated manufacturing equipment such as robotic welders, CNC machines, hydraulic presses, coordinated lifting equipment, remote controlled equipment movers, three-phase rectifiers, cranes, hoists, pumps, motors and other industrial equipment. These systems are essential to production and require maximum uptime to meet production goals. You will be on point to achieve targeted equipment uptime goals. This position will collaborate with the Maintenance Manager.
What you will be doing:
Trouble shooting CNC controls up to and including parameters updating.
Crafting standard work instructions, Project Manager task descriptions and problem solving flow charts.
Composing job plans which will include hazard evaluations, LOTO, material and labor estimates as well as equipment down time estimates.
Review and updating equipment footprint and layouts.
Advise management on recommendations for equipment improvement, modification, or replacement.
Apply CMMS to supervise and report on equipment reliability and uptime.
Track and update spare parts lists and verify availability of spares for critical equipments in the Siemens’s PM software (Mpulse).
Provide technical expertise, support and train the maintenance technicians.
Diagnosing and repairing down equipment and escalating if equipment uptime goals will be impacted.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
Must have CNC controls experience and be able to run a CNC controlled machine program and in MDI to be able to trouble shoot and update to resolve any problems.
Highly skilled with the ability to read and understand electrical schematics, loop drawings, hydraulic diagrams, P&ID’s, PLCs and blueprints.
Proficiency in physics as it relates to pneumatics, hydraulics, mass, motion, electrical charge, and thermodynamics.
An understanding of the components used in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical circuits.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
3-5 years’ experience working in a production or processing plant.
Comfortable with working on VFD and Servo Drives.
Mechanical experience with motion control components such as linear bearing, gears, and splines a plus.
Understanding of rectifiers and inverters.
Experience with RTD’s, pressure transmitters, level transmitters and switches.
Common instrumentation loop experience.
Incremental encoders experience. with machine guarding safety components such as light curtains, laser scanners, safety switches, estops and safety relays
We would be impressed if you had:
Have worked in a transportation industry such as auto, bus or train manufacturing companies
Proficient in three-phase power.
Solid experience with motor and motion control.
Strong experience with Siemens Sinumeric CNC controls
Experience with Siemens STEP7 controls
Experience with Heidenhain scales and encoders
