ALM Solution Architect

Job Description:

Work productively with Consultants, Architects, Project Managers, and other internal & external interfaces to ensure that the customer succeeds in their objectives.  As a Lead Architect resource, responsible for the translation of business requirements into specific process aligned designs for the Siemens Polarion based on multi product/multi industry domain knowledge and best practices in the subject area applied to complex projects and programs across Zone.   Provide architectural guidance and advice complex and/ or strategic Sales/PreSales pursuits and Services projects, through the complexity of solution architecture options and the long term roadmap for the solution.
Act as trusted advisor on architectural design to address business problems, recommending best in class solutions ensuring that the technical integrity of the solution remains aligned to requirements and value delivery throughout project and that the various project solutions will work together to deliver value.  Provides direction for process design, process integration and process change activities either internally or at customer sites
Works under self management and will determine solutions, methods and procedures on assignments/projects across Zone of moderate to high complexity and diverse scope that require specialist architectural expertise and leadership.  Provides guidance and mentoring to other architects within and beyond immediate project or program.

Lead validation of solution definition activities
Contribute to best practices development and team competency development. 
Pro-actively implement practices to increase quality and productivity. 
Participate in code reviews. 
Lead by example on all aspects of coding and design. 
Work closely with testers and product managers to ensure that requirements are clearly outlined before coding commences. 
Actively contribute to planning and assessment meetings. 
Collaborate closely with project/program management and key stakeholders  

Engineering degree from a reputed university. 
Proficient usage of English.
Ability to write documentation concisely Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
10+ years of experience in solution implementation, good experience in solution design and architecture,
Ability to drive complex implementation projects and see them through to the end.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively. 
Demonstrates a thorough professional know-how in Technical & Solution Architecting, based on practical, demonstrable experience including a thorough understanding of Technical & Solution Architecting practices and standards.
Contributes to process improvement for Technical & Solution Architecting, providing feedback on the use of processes, systems and tools in real world situations.
Focusses on mentoring others to improve Technical & Solution Architecting delivery across the business, proactively sharing knowledge to transfer expertise.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge in requirements management, test management and ALM solutions
Drives best in class design and implementation to deliver a transformational solution for the customer, being aware and responding appropriately to time and cost constraints
Reviews and consults on complex projects with a large component in own expert domain.
Understands common software development principles and lifecycle
Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment
Working experience with Java, J2EE, Java Script, HTML, CSS, XML
Working experience with Git / SVN

Advantage (nice to have): 

Technical competence required in Polarion ALM is preferred, however experience with competitive solutions such as Jira, IBM Rational Doors, Jama Connect or other Application Lifecycle Management solutions may be considered.
Working experience in an Agile environment (Scrum, XP, Kanban). 

Act as part of a Professional Services team, work productively with Consultants, Solution Architects, Project Managers, and other internal & external interfaces to ensure that the customer succeeds in their objectives. As a specialist resource, responsible for consulting, advising, recommending, designing, and where appropriate deploying, specific technical solutions based on own specialist product knowledge and best practices in the subject area, for standard projects in country, in order for the Siemens PLM Software solution to be delivered successfully and provide value to the customer. In line with project processes and messaging, interact with the customer to support the management of customer expectations and support customer adoption. Consult on moderate to complex projects/assignments of diverse scope that require specialist expertise. Work under self management within project and/ or task constraints and determine solutions, methods and procedures on assignments/projects. Where required lead Solution Leadership elements of the PLM deployment framework Where required, act as project technical work stream lead for specific project work streams on small to medium projects requiring a full time specialist resource, and support project management activities such as estimating, work package breakdown and project planning and monitoring, where required. Support larger and more complex projects on dedicated product related expert topics typically for a limited timeline. Provides guidance and mentoring on the design, configuration, development and deployment of single-domain technical solutions to Implementation Consultants and Associate Consultant's in a single product within the Country organization where appropriate. Actively participate in Country Communities of Practice, in own area of specialist knowledge, and contribute to the definition of new, and maintenance of existing, best practices and templates, providing experiences to support continual improvement. Leverage relevant best practices and templates in the provision of consulting to Country project teams.
