Siemens Healthineers has an exciting opportunity for a Magnet Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary group in our R&D department dedicated to MRI superconducting magnet design and manufacturing. As a flexible Magnet Engineer, you will help develop exceptional and reliable new superconducting magnets, including feasibility study, concept generation, technical design, and realisation focusing on electromagnetic design, cryogenics management and shimming.

Some of your magnet engineering responsibilities will include:

●     Inspiring innovation and technical strategy to keep excellence and ensure a top position

●     Conceptual development of superconducting magnets 

●     Detailed design of superconducting magnets

●     Using finite element techniques for electromagnetic field calculation 

What experience are we looking for as a Magnet Engineer?

●     Knowledge of electromagnetic field theory

●     Knowledge of electromagnetic field calculation, including analytical and FEA

●     Knowledge of magnetic material and their magnetic properties

●     Knowledge of magnetic field measurement

●     Knowledge of superconductivity

●     Knowledge of superconducting magnet

To succeed, you will need a broad spectrum of engineering experience and the capability to apply a flexible and creative approach to various engineering technologies. You will also need the ability to analyse complex engineering problems from technical and commercial viewpoints and to identify and deliver pragmatic solutions. In addition, you should have a proven ability for technical supervision and knowledge of electromagnetic field theory.
