Simcenter Application Specialist, Electrification

Job Description

Simcenter Application Specialist, Electrification Position Overview

Engineering Challenges are inherently multifaceted, relying on many disciplines working hand in glove to deliver innovative designs that meet the technical demands but are also environmentally and commercially sound.

At Siemens Digital Industries Software, we recognize this and the importance of delivering a holistic solution to our customers.

As a Simcenter Application Specialist for Electrification, you will be instrumental in driving the strategic topic of electrification towards excellence by leveraging the various solutions of the Simcenter portfolio for simulation and test.

We are looking for highly self-organized and motivated team players that enjoy collaborating across a large and dynamic ecosystem.

Together with your product manager counterpart you will champion electrification, which means – among other exciting goals – the production of key assets contributing to strategic go-to-market initiatives, the development of technical proposals to cover industry-specific workflows as part of the execution of a strategic plan, and the contribution to (technical) sales enablement activities, as well as support provided in context of solution deployment for strategic customers.

Responsibilities:

The role has two key functions:

Inbound-related activities:
Focusing on use cases corresponding to priority areas for electrification, investigate and assess the maturity and the comprehensiveness of solutions, thereby identifying desired capabilities.
Together with product management stakeholder(s), agree on the required technical demonstrators aiming at evidencing the overall performance and comprehensiveness of the targeted workflows.
Develop and deliver the above demonstrators, keeping user experience as a key driver. Support synchronization activities with the complete Simcenter product management organization to drive the execution of the strategic roadmap, from initial sharing of requirements until delivery and presentation in context of enablement activities and early adopter programs.

Outbound-related activities:

Assemble material based on contributions from various solutions in the Simcenter portfolio to ensure visibility, positioning, presence of electrification use-cases in the various industries it serves and related marketing and sales campaign assets.
Contribute to branding and reputation by delivering assets highlighting the value and the uniqueness of what Simcenter can deliver in context of electrification. Assemble and demonstrate key workflows and highlight the unique selling points of Simcenter for electrification, thereby also serving the needs of go-to-market, including enablement of sales, support and services organizations.
Support strategic customer engagements by developing additional material to facilitate solution adoption and to accelerate deployment.
Contribute to the definition of the requirements associated to this material.

 Mentorship and Career Growth:

Our Simcenter team has a mix of experience in both simulation and test, and we are committed to mentoring and onboarding new members.  Continuous learning is a key part of our culture, with learning days for the entire organization several times a year.

At Siemens we encourage everyone to own their career and enable team members to take on more complex applications and projects over time.

Team Culture

We have a strong emphasis on balancing life and work with individual autonomy.   At Siemens you will be working with employees spread around the globe, as we celebrate the diversity that different cultures bring to our organization.

 Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Working experience in applying simulation and/or test solution in the context of electrification. Excellent interpersonal and communication (English language) skills;
  • Ability to communicate with people at various levels of management and technical backgrounds.
  •  A self-starter able to work in a globally distributed organization and across cultures.
  • Ability to work in an open, collaborative team, with a focus on excellence.
  • Demonstrate strategic business or project planning and execution experience (able to develop and drive long term business or project plans).
  • Experience in the use of simulation, such as 3D Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), 1D or systems simulation, Multiphysics simulation, testing solutions, either in the industry and/or in context of technical presales or consultant roles.
  • Degree in related Engineering or Science disciplines with at least 5 years of experience.
