Application Support Engineer PCB Design EDA

Job Description

Here at Siemens Digital Industries Software we are looking for an Application Support Engineer, who will be part of the Global Customer Support & Success team, providing post-sales Electronic Design Automation (EDA) application support for the Physical Layout design flow. The position will be based in the USA.

What will be your responsibilities?

  • Serve as key member of an award-winning EDA technical support team committed to providing excellent support to customers, field personnel and team members using Siemens EDA design software applications
  • Troubleshoot complex Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design issues
  • Prepare and present topical video demonstrations to promote customer adoption and success
  • Collaborate on innovative methods to help customers adopt new technology 
  • Create clear and concise knowledgebase articles which enable customers to self-solve
  • Collaborate and share knowledge with other support engineers regionally and worldwide
  • Continually expand technical knowledge of PCB flow applications

What do you need to qualify for the role?

  • BSEE or equivalent combined with significant Electronic Design/Layout expertise
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the PCB design process from schematic entry to layout/manufacturing
  • Recent experience with Siemens EDA Xpedition Enterprise flow applications
  • USA citizenship or permanent resident status
  • Very proficient in spoken and written English
  • Excellent listening, writing and speaking skills
  • Lateral thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Strong customer service attitude and soft skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects as needed
  • Readiness to travel occasionally

Nice to have qualifications:

  • VB scripting knowledge
  • Relational database knowledge
