Position Overview:
Act as a Security Engineering Lead with Cyber-Defense focus for the security operations of the Siemens DI SW systems deployed across multiple cloud service providers, including AWS, Azure, and GCP. Provide security engineering subject matter expertise in the threat detections, security incident response and attack surface reduction functional areas. This includes the security operations for our clients, across all types of platforms, including Infrastructure, Platform, and Software as a Service (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS). Serve as a Security Engineering Lead for cloud and cloud security operations reporting into Siemens Digital Industries Software Chief Information Security Officer. Partner with other leaders across the business to identify opportunities and risks required to develop and deliver solutions that support business strategies and protect our clients’ intellectual property globally.

Basic Qualifications:
  • BA or BS degree in CS, Systems Analysis, or a related field or Equivalent Experience
  • 5+ years of experience performing security investigations, penetration testing, and incident response in the context of large organizations
  • 5+ years of experience in Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) technologies, preferably Splunk
  • In-depth understanding of security threats, hands-on experience detecting and defending from cyber-attacks, and experience using big data analytics and orchestration to address security challenges
  • Ability to develop code with at least one modern language such as Java, Go, TypeScript, Python
  • Demonstrated technical leadership in security (e.g., tech lead, developed security architecture for a product or system, led technical component of security project, etc.
  • Experience leading and coaching junior security engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness
Additional Qualifications:
  • BA or BS degree in CS, Systems Analysis, or a related field or Equivalent Experience
  • Prioritized experience in threat detection operations experience
  • Experience in the implementation of the Mitre ATT&CK framework and knowledge of host and network telemetry data (e.g., process lists, application logs, NetFlow)
  • Experience in the development of the enterprise detection blueprint for required security logging of the technology ecosystem
  • Experience with data loss prevention, intrusion detection, malware detonation and similar cyber defense technologies
  • Experience with data science, big data analytics technology stack, analytic development for endpoint and network security, and streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark Streaming, and Kinesis)
  • Strong sense of ownership combined with collaborative approach to overcoming challenges and influencing organizational change
