Head of SCM-Procurement / Supply Chain Logistics Mobility region South West Europe.

The Head of SCM- Procurement & Logistics defines and implements standards and guidelines and leads a SCM- Procurement & Logistics across multiple locations in the South West Europe (SWE) Mobility business. 

The successful candidate will have spent at least 10 years in progressive responsible positions handling procurement for large corporations, preferably in the rail industry. As a member of the Siemens Mobility SWE executive team the Head of SCM-Procurement & Logistics  is responsible for safeguarding a market leading SCM performance at competitive costs derived from business requirements.

Mission of function
• Responsible of leading, coordinate and planning overall SCM-Procurement&Logistics activities for the SWE Mobility region.
• Lead the monitorization supply market conditions, develop, and engage preferred suppliers and drive supplier innovation.
• Contribution to Siemens Mobility SWE cost optimization and exploitation of SCM synergies at Siemens worldwide as well as ensuring SCM Compliance including P2P.
• Development and implementation of efficient forms of organisation and procedures to continuously detect areas for rationalization and increase profitability.
• Deploy Siemens SCM Strategy in area of responsibility and contribute to Siemens Mobility SWE
• Define and implement Commodity / material field pooling strategies, documented, and regularly updated in Commodity Strategy Master to ensure long-term cost-efficient supply.
• Full strategic responsibility for division-specific material.
• Identify procurement risks, opportunities and market forces to avoid potential damage or exploit opportunities through tailored risk/opportunity management, following the Siemens Mobility ERM methodology.
• Creation and management of short-, mid-, and long-term goals and objectives.
• Management of business process outsourcing activities.
• Management of procurement staff in (and across) sourcing, contracting, transactional purchasing, supplier management, and miscellaneous internal procurement support activities.
• Creating a talent management process in coordination with P&O to ensure that the right resources are in place.
• Managing the skills and competency development of procurement staff, including training development and knowledge management capabilities.
• Leadership of cross-functional teaming across other business functions and initiatives.
• Budget management for categories under management – and for procurement itself.
• Development of benchmarks and scorecards to be used for continuous improvement.
• Building a Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE) to help transform Procurement, and also support broader transformation of the value chain and the enterprise.


Skills & Experience

University degree in either business administration or engineering; or similar.
At least 10+ years’ experience as a procurement professional with at least 5+ years in a leadership position; minimum team of ten.
Profound knowledge of the relevant SWE supply markets with extensive contacts in the railway supply industry would be preferable.
Experience working in an international and complex matrix-organisation.
Has experience in at least 1-2 of the following SCM areas/roles: project procurement management, commodity management, strategy procurement management.
Proficient knowledge in SAP, MS Office is required, Tableau is an advantage.
Understanding of import and export regulations.
Excellent ability to communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders across the region.
Ability to build trust and confidence quickly and professionally.

Working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, treasury, risk management, etc.
Excellent communication skills and even better listening skills that allows to get the “voice of the internal customer” and to understand the company culture and how to best communicate procurement’s value to it
Strong negotiation skills to use for large commercial deals
Experience with modern sourcing and procurement systems
Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
