Siemens EDA are currently looking for a Senior Embedded Software Developer to join our Veloce(R) X-STEP(TM) R&D Team on a permanent contract based from our office in Oulu Finland. The role is to develop software for the Veloce X-STEP products and related integrations with other Veloce products in collaboration with rest of the development team.

What role will you play?

As an embedded developer you will design, implement, test and debug features on our hardware products. It's part of the teams work to ensure all these blocks work well together.

You craft features together with the team, consisting of Architect, FPGA developers, Test engineers and other Software developers.

What we expect from you:

Document your design (usually together with other designers), let others review it and then implement it.

You commit working code, perform constructive code reviews for peers and help develop the team’s ways of working.

Good communication and teamwork skills (both written and verbal) demonstrated through software documentation (commit messages, code comments, etc), collecting customer requirements, and communicating with team members on daily basis. You share what you learn, help others to achieve their goals, learn standard methodologies from your peers, and understand when to ask for help.

The ability to work independently with little supervision. You take initiative to find your next task, consult others if priorities are in conflict.

Experience from following
  • Software development using C/C++ and python technologies
  • Writing hardware abstraction layer or Linux kernel drivers
  • Development work with embedded hardware devices and high speed serial interfaces, e.g. bring ups
