Job Title: Sales Compensation & Incentive Manager (f-m-d)

Location: Nürnberg (Germany); or any other major DI locations in Germany

The Mission:

The Sales Compensation & Incentive Manager is responsible for contributing to the development, implementation and monitoring of the sales incentive programs. The Position holder will work closely with HR, Sales, Finance, IT and other related teams in a cross functional effort to design DI sales compensation framework that supports the agile execution of DI strategy, that is cost effective and in same time provides the clarity to sales teams to what they have to do and why to optimize their compensation.

Your Role – International, Challenging and Future-Oriented!

  • Build on the work to date to define and lead a cross-functional process to align sales incentives with business global strategic and operational goals.
  • Work in close collaboration with the regions to ensure that global policies reflect specific local requirements
  • Determine performance measures, weights, and mechanics to drive desired behaviours by sales role 
  • Analyze sales incentive related issues and monitor sales data and processes for completeness, inconsistencies, and accuracy and perform data mining, root cause analysis, and trending to develop and own appropriate process changes.
  • Implement compensation & incentive projects pilots in the regions if appropriate.
  • Brief DI executives on current sales performance and obstacles 
  • Manage plan design exception requests from regional sales leadership 
  • Oversee the creation of cost of sales models to evaluate alternative scenarios and work closely with Sales Finance on predicting the cost of sales compensation programs and designing the plan. 
  • Design temporary incentives (e.g., "SPIFFs") to support short term priorities 
  • Communicate with field sales and relevant stakeholders on policy and program changes in a compelling and effective manner 
  • Develop strong relationships with the senior leadership of the sales organization to understand their business needs and translate them into sales compensation deliverables 
  • Be closely connected with the sales organization to understand their various needs and be an advocate for their resolution in an effective way
  • Providing advice and guidance to management team on specific reward / Incentives related issues. Contributing to the content of the Reward communications (spotlights) on a regular basis.

Your qualifications and skills - digital and solid

  • A degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related area from reputable university or college.
  • Proven track record with 5-8 years in similar positions in leading, delivering compensation solutions in a sales operations, consulting, or professional services role. 
  • Experience of working in a customer focused reward team or proven experience of delivery and implementation of Compensation and Incentives activities. 
  • Significant understanding of how employment legislation and P&O policies impact sales compensation policies
  • Experience of project management delivery preferred
  • Demonstrable experience of leading global project team preferred
  • Proven experience of working across diverse teams and businesses that are spread geographically
  • Strong work ethics, motivated, with ability to lead cross-functional teams including executives and to
  • manage projects to on-time completion 
  • Excellent communication skills and tactful diplomacy 
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
