This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Strategic Publications and Communications Director in Laboratory Diagnostics, you will be responsible for:

The Medical Affairs Strategic Publications and Communications Director is responsible for defining and executing publication strategies and medical information creation and dissemination. This includes the development and oversight of processes towards publications of collaborative studies and related outputs within the Medical and Clinical Affairs organization as well as relevant on-label and (unsolicited) off-label discussions with healthcare providers regarding the scientific exchange of medical information. This position will also be responsible for oversight of publication access and support of medical writing activities (including medical writing) towards generating medical and scientific evidence for publication purposes within the Medical and Clinical Affairs team. This position must work with key stakeholders in the business and proactively drive governance of medical information and communication activities, demonstrate strong leadership in the medical information arena and be capable of handling multiple projects. The Strategic Publications and Communications Director may also lead and/or be involved in interactions directly with customers and oversight of medical information specialist(s) (MIS) and medical writers driving towards delivering agreed upon outputs aligned with the Medical and Clinical Affairs strategy.

This Strategic Publications and Communications Director will:

·       Represent and work with the Medical and Clinical Affairs Team in the development and execution of publication strategies towards evidence generation to demonstrate the clinical value of diagnostic products.

  • Proactively and innovatively generate and communicate evidence necessary to optimize the medical and scientific exchange of Siemens Healthineers Laboratory Diagnostics products, primarily in the US market.
  • Develop and enhance existing processes, procedures, and in some cases provide direct outputs (emails, etc.), for exchange of medical information for specialists (e.g. Medical Information Specialists, Medical Science Liaisons) within the Medical and Clinical Affairs team that interface with healthcare providers to provide concise, accurate, unbiased, and non-promotional data in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Ensure healthcare providers have essential information that is clearly understandable, truthful, and not misleading for using the company’s products safely and effectively when approached in an unsolicited manner.
  • Develop and enhance existing processes and procedures for accessing relevant publications and dissemination to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely development of high-quality deliverables (e.g. drafting publications.
  • Lead and handle multiple projects to targeted outputs and timelines as advised as well as interact with key stakeholders within the Medical and Clinical Affairs team in the execution of projects ensuring all scientific research is captured optimally with an intent to publish and disseminate.

·        Graduate Degree in a relevant area of medical sciences


·        Minimum of 5+ years in an IVD or related industry setting in the direct conduct of medical and scientific exchange, medical writing, publication, and dissemination of medical information. Experience in an academic medical center with clinical research experience preferred.
