Siemens Healthineers’ business operations are divided into three segments: Imaging, Diagnostics and Advanced Therapies. Siemens Diagnostics business offers a portfolio of systems and assay menu in immunoassay, chemistry, hematology, hemostasis, molecular and urinalysis, as well as automation, informatics and services to support the essential role of laboratory diagnostics.
As an important part of this business, it operates a facility in Glasgow, Delaware, which produces more than 5 billion tests annually, supporting our critical Clinical Chemistry and OEM product portfolio. Specific operations include protein purification, antibody conjugation, reagent formulation and calibrators and controls (i.e., serum processing and analytical stock preparation). Major investments are in process to support the insourcing and expansion of Clinical Chemistry production capability.
Siemens Healthineers is seeking an energetic, strategic leader and influencer to lead the Glasgow, Delaware site. Reporting directly to the vice president, global reagent supply chain, the Vice President, Manufacturing, Glasgow Site Lead will be an integral part of Siemens Healthineers’ leadership team, providing direction and leadership to the site’s manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and logistics teams to achieve production targets and related business objectives. He/she will lead an effort to create long-term strategic cultural changes and process improvements aimed at significantly improving efficiency and operational effectiveness. This individual will set and articulate operational goals at the site and drive the organization to achieve stated goals and enable a sustained, long-term transformation.
Vice President, Global Reagent Supply Chain
§ Develop and implement successful manufacturing, operational and maintenance strategies for Siemens Healthineers’ products to meet and exceed company production objectives as well as identify long-term strategic changes and process improvements that will significantly transform and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
§ Enable a sustained, long-term change and transformation process by explicitly laying out a clear strategic plan to drive change while monitoring continued progress and performance.
§ Analyze current business capability and other dynamics to identify key priorities for response, including leveraging internal/external resources to maximize production and output.
§ Develop, direct and implement strategic manufacturing management plans, policies, procedures and systems in order to best achieve overall manufacturing, quality and delivery targets, including:
§ Establish and monitor key performance metrics.
§ Assess and recommend operational changes.
§ Analyze forecasts versus actual.
§ Assess engineering process and design proficiencies unique to each area/department.
§ Optimize efficiency by championing leading-edge manufacturing techniques and all related principles.
§ Evaluate performance of direct reports based on operational activities.
§ Ensure excellence in product quality and on-time delivery; set targets and strategies for realistic new business objectives providing guidance to subordinate teams.
§ Guide teams in operational decisions, technical or engineering concepts and new operational potential outputs to meet demands for each.
§ Provide leadership and advice to the team in determining the "root cause" of issues, create solutions to address problems and role model leadership skills to provide effective coordination and direction.
§ Develop, direct and support the manufacturing team by implementing highly effective operational systems, tools and training programs to enhance internal capability.
§ Oversee capacity planning of operational resources (materials/tools/equipment/people) to fulfill department responsibilities, including negotiating cross-departmental dependencies and resource sharing.
§ Provide effective operations/maintenance management and ensure that all reports and related activities are within required guidelines and operational parameters.
§ Be accountable for all aspects of product manufacturing, including the development and implementation of short- and long-term tactical production and maintenance plans.
§ Ensure compliance with all regulatory issues related to operations by coordinating methodologies to provide oversight of operations for compliance with regulatory standards, company standards, timelines, budgets and other obligations.
§ Manage the interfaces between the manufacturing teams and the rest of the company within the scope of the position.

The Vice President, Manufacturing, Glasgow Site Lead will be an innovative leader who blends strategy, operations, technology and analytics to produce outstanding business results. The successful candidate will be a strong people leader, with a track record of leading plant operations at scale. He/she will be a change agent with a track record of driving transformation and cultural change in manufacturing operations. A broad operations leader, this individual will bring a proven track record of driving organizational change to achieve and improve on best-in-class supply chain performance. He/she will excel at unlocking organizational talent, creating the platform and opportunity for team members to exceed performance goals and grow their careers.
Proven manufacturing leadership experience at scale
10-15 years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing/plant environment. Broad experience overseeing end-to-end site operations, with experience leading on-site teams of 250+ employees.
Relevant industry experience
Experience in a large, global company environment or highly matrixed organization is ideal. Experience with highly automated environments and FDA regulation is ideal.
Process engineering background
Background in process engineering and/or systems engineering with demonstrated experience in driving operational excellence initiatives, including process improvement and cost reduction, and taking operations from “good to great.”
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering. An advanced degree in a related field is highly desirable.
