Job Description

The Head of Americas and EDA Legal for Siemens Industry Software (“SISW”) is responsible for legal support to the business and operations of SISW’s affiliates in the Americas, including in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.  The Head of Americas and EDA Legal is also responsible for the legal support of SISW’s Electronic Design Automation (“EDA”) business worldwide. 

Accordingly, this position reports to the SISW General Counsel and participates on the staffs of both the Global Sales & Customer Success (GS&CS) leader for SISW in the Americas and the Global Sales leader for EDA.  The attorney in this role must work closely with SISW executive management in the Americas and in the EDA segment to understand and support key initiatives and customer pursuits and to adjust resources across accounts and borders as needed to meet forecasted demands.  The position also coordinates with the various countries’ SISW CEOs and CFOs on region-wide matters and strategies.  This position is a key member of the Americas zone management team as well as the EDA executive team and is expected to be a trusted advisor to both teams.

The Head of Americas and EDA Legal manages 14 direct and indirect reports.  The role is responsible to coordinate these resources across the various geographical zones where SISW operates to meet the organization’s fluid needs, including in countries where no SISW Legal personnel are currently based.  The Head of Americas and EDA Legal is responsible to support the professional growth and development of a diverse, expert team supporting SISW business.  This person will participate as a member of the DI SW Legal and Compliance Management Team and will collaborate with her/his peers regarding various initiatives and projects of our organization.

The Head of Americas and EDA Legal is responsible to advise senior management on general legal affairs under the direction of the SISW General Counsel, including in the areas of customer and partner sales agreements and programs, vendor agreements, alliance agreements, corporate law, dispute resolution, and other applicable legal matters.  The person in this position ensures that applicable legal policies, templates, and requirements of SISW are implemented within his/her areas of responsibility and also serves as an escalation point for negotiations.  The position also oversees any applicable litigation matters and works on legal projects relevant to the Americas or EDA such as mergers and acquisitions, marketing programs, and HR initiatives.  Further, this position is responsible for coordinating with the various Regional Company General Counsels as needed to ensure appropriate collaboration and alignment between the legal resources of SISW and the rest of the Siemens Legal department.

The Head of Americas and EDA Legal, as a senior leader in the DI SW Legal Department, is responsible for achieving the strategic priorities of Siemens Legal & Compliance including demonstration of a Growth Mindset, development of Technology with Purpose, driving Customer Impact, and ensuring that we have Empowered People.


Attorney admitted to practice in at least one US State.

At least 15 years of experience in supporting technology/commercial software business.

Strong expertise in copyright, trade secret, general contract, and commercial terms
