Position Overview

This position assists our customers in Process industries improve their operations through design and implementation of Siemens Digital Enterprise Services.  Position leverages cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, edge computing, cloud computing, virtualized and platform services to improve our customers’ operations.  This role works closely with Siemens Sales and delivery teams to design and implement advanced customer solutions.  System architecture design, solution road-mapping, and network security expertise are required.

This position can be based anywhere within the US with preference to Harleysville, PA.


  • Designing solutions for customers based on product capabilities and integration needs in process industries
  • Assisting high profile / lighthouse projects (possibly throughout a project duration)
  • Supporting pre-sales colleagues and disseminating expert knowledge about products and solutions,
  • Drives and guides the creation of a functional architecture for a complete Solution and of a technical realization concept over all its domain and technical aspects.
  • Sales and presentation skills are needed
  • Effective at communication across all functions
  • The ability and comfort level to present easily to customer architects, engineers and executives to effectively position the value of Siemens solutions and how it solves the customer problems or achieves their goals.
  • A desire to work with account teams on strategy, architecture and design of customer networks.
  • Evaluates different concepts with respect to technological and commercial aspects. 
  • Specifies and integrates standard products, components and systems according to the required functionality of the solution and coordinates their interfaces and interaction.
  • Acts internally as an integrating and coordinating technical function.
  • Consult service personnel in security relevant topics while their customer engagements
  • Can support multiple design & service activities at the same time
  • Experience with Secure Network Architecture & Design, Threat & Risk Analysis, Secure Network Project Integration and Security Testing.  Guide Technological Aspects:
    • Specification and maintenance of security requirements for the services. Support for meeting international and regional security standards and regulations (like IEC62443) in the service project
    • Planning and performing threat and risk analysis if needed and definition of countermeasures in line with risk acceptance criteria of organization
    • Verification of implementation regarding security requirements (e.g. as part of factory or site acceptance test)
  • Understands important industry trends and correlate trends to drive incremental service opportunity
  • Coordinates with marketing groups to assist with industry messaging and collateral.
  • Participates in professional organizations and support industry events

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Bachelor degree or 4 years equivalent experience.  
  • Seven plus years of digital transformation service sales, automation and drive services/ solutions sales and marketing experience.  Specific experience in Chemical and Pharmaceutical industries is desired
  • This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate and work with a variety of people not under direct control in a fast-paced team environment.
  • This position requires strong influence skills in a matrix environment
  • Position location is open.  Approximately 40% travel is required.
