Product Managers reside at the intersection of business, technology, and customer domains, with an objective of building a successful product line that contributes to the company’s overall objectives.  While the Product Manager is often referred to as the “CEO of the product line”, the position relies heavily on management by influence rather than management by authority.  This is achieved by developing and executing realistic strategies deliver maximum value to the market, enabling sales to extract maximum revenue from each customer.

This position reports to the Senior Simulation Product Manager to enable accelerated growth for the Questa and ModelSim simulation products and technologies, and will be largely responsible for implementing programs and initiatives that align to the strategies set by the Senior Simulation Product Manager.

A successful Product Manager brings technical expertise, as well as strong business acumen, and customer obsession. Additionally, as well as the ability to define products based on customer needs, the desire to have an industry-wide impact, and ability to work within a fast moving, startup environment in a large company. This position requires excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Candidates should have experience defining projects, collecting requirements, coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new features sets, as well as analyzing costs/benefits of feature selection.

The Product Management role is a broad one. We are looking for product business owners who can scale in perspective from strategic vision development with direct interaction with the senior leadership team, to tactical product development.

Product Manager - Responsibilities

Product Line Life Cycle Management

·       Use business conditions to determine what to build next

·       Manage each product throughout the Moore’s Model of the product lifecycle*

Sales Enablement

·       Set priorities to support World Trade selling activities and initiatives

·       Set priorities to support customer awareness, adoption, and deployment

Outbound Programs

·       Determine external messaging and positioning to the industry

·       Generate internal messaging and positioning to World Trade

Product Manager Requirements

·       5 or more of years EDA product/technical marketing, or experience in customer-facing engineering roles. MBA is a strong plus

·       Knowledge and experience in semiconductor design and/or verification, including experience with RTL simulation in Verilog or VHDL design languages.  Experience with System Verilog verification language and UVM verification methodology is preferred.

·       Problem solving skills

·       Business and economic awareness

·       Understanding of customer needs and product technical features

·       Familiarity with the Moore’s Model of the product lifecycle

·       Experience in more than one of the following roles

o   Customer – Electronic Design and/or Verification

o   Account Manager and/or Field Applications Engineer

o   Product Engineer and/or Development Engineer

·       Ability to discern between features, advantages, benefits, and values

·       Understanding of the technical, economic, and personal influences of decision making

  • Superior verbal and written communications skills with high attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications
  • Ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment, with attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent time management, resource management and planning skills
