Software Test Architect - Verification & Validation of Intelligent Systems

Job Description

We are seeking a Test Architect in the field of Software Verification and Validation with specific focus on Intelligent Systems. In this role, you will collaborate with product managers, developers, quality assurance engineers, architects, data scientists, and site reliability engineers to apply and tailor state-of-the-art test methodologies to ensure the delivery of industrial-grade quality products. The focus of the role will be to develop automation test frameworks and to improve test techniques for (intelligent) software-intensive systems which is reflected by patents and publications in journals and conferences. It is expected that the person is experienced to deep dive into technical details of complex and intelligent system to create and execute a test strategy that accelerates the customers development cycles.

The Challenge:
  • Perform research, development, and consulting projects in close teamwork with colleagues, customers, and universities.
  • Review and assess test strategies of Siemens businesses to identify and turn weaknesses into opportunities to apply advanced test technologies.
  • Develop new test automation concepts and proof their efficiency and effectiveness by prototype implementations.
  • Design, develop and maintain test architectures and test interfaces to provide adequate testing infrastructures and test environments.
  • Apply testing Standards and present and articulate newly advanced test methodologies.
  • Document achieved test enhancements and their technical realization in a publishable and patentable form.
  • Provide technical leadership to the team, collaborators and customers regarding state-of-the-art software testing methods, tools, and trends
  • Acquire and lead projects, identify high-impact research topics in software testing and present proposals, concepts, and results to collaborators and customers.

The Candidate:

Qualified candidates will have:

  • MS in computer science, electrical engineering or related discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience. PhD preferred.
  • Strong background in verification and validation of large and complex software systems
  • Experience in a test architect or equivalent role in an industrial context.
  • Familiarity with specification-based, structural-based and experience-based test design approaches
  • Understanding of continuous integration and deployment methodologies, pipelines, and tools.
  • Ability to create clear, concise, detail-oriented test strategies and test architectures from formal to informal specifications.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented analysis, object-oriented design, and object-oriented programming
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills in English a must.
  • A publication record in high profile peer-reviewed journals and conferences is desired but not required.
