This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join a multi discipline global team. You will be working across organizational and geographical boundaries to design, develop, enhance, and implement support tools and applications. Your challenge will be to surpass customer expectations, produce high quality applications. These tools are business critical to delivering the highest quality product support to Siemens PL customers. The tools are used both internally and externally by product support teams and customers to effectively and efficiently ensure customer success. The overall challenge is to enhance current, build new and transform applications into simple, intuitive and compelling application experience that modernizes the user experience. You will be working in a fast-paced, agile environment where you will have to keep pace with the rapidly evolving technologies and standards to bring new ideas and solutions to realization. The ideal candidate is driven by the desire to be a user advocate and is passionate about creating product applications that are intuitive, satisfying, and easy to use.

Job Description: 
The Tools Development Engineer will design, develop, modify, and integrate product support application tools (both internal and external facing) with the focus on surpassing customer expectations by achieving high quality, ease of use and on time delivery. These tools are critical to delivering the highest quality support to our Siemens customers directly and indirectly by providing our internal GCSS team the capabilities to efficiently and effectively perform their support roles contributing to the overall success of the customer.

  • Provision and maintain secure, optimized, cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure
  • Create methods for identifying potential infrastructure problems
  • Implement high-availability strategies for applications and services
  • Analyze scalability and capacity of applications and services
  • Analyze the performance of applications and services
  • Implement disaster recovery solutions
  • Create and maintain documentation of all infrastructure
  • Build and maintain continuous integration solutions
  • Build and maintain robust, minimal downtime deployment solutions
  • Build and maintain shared services such as authorization, authentication, error logging, log file storage, search
  • Identify more efficient ways to manage applications and services

  • B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent technical training and professional work experience
  • DevOps Engineer: 3 years
  • AWS Services: 2 years
  • CI/CD pipelines: 2 years
  • Docker/Kubernetes: 2 years
  • Elasticsearch: 2 years
  • Git: 3 years
  • Linux administration: 3 years
  • Scripting or coding experience with one or more languages: 3 years
  • Ability to trace and debug issues across the entire technology stack
  • Passion for automating repetitive tasks
  • Excellent communication, time management, prioritization skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly
  • Ability to work with remote team members across US time zones
  • May work REMOTE for this opportunity
