Position Overview:

We are seeking a hardworking mid-level technician to join our team. You will work with guidance and supervision on tasks for large and small projects in a team environment on various wayside signaling projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide field support for testing, surveys, and commission.
  • Assists circuit design on non-complex projects. Generate tags from circuits; provide detailing of circuits; check tag lists.
  • Answer detailed questions concerning circuits from wiring personnel and solve problems in electrical circuits
  • Perform detail check of circuits, Bill of Material, and wiring detail on projects.
  • Assist detail all circuits for field tie-ins.
  • Check all Bill of Materials and resolve related issues.
  • Answer questions from contract managers and shop personnel concerning projects.
  • Perform factory testing of equipment after shop production, update CADD drawings, and create new drawings.
  • Assists with breakdown testing and operational testing for locations before shipments to the field.
  • Assists with factory inspection of finished equipment, working with customers.
  • Modify design drawings using CADD and Drafting Standards
  • Supports and maintains test equipment in designated test areas.
  • Constructs test fixtures in support of unit and system tests.
  • Effectively identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is more complicated and complex.
For your safety, we require:
  • Two-year technical certification training in electrical engineering/related field or 6-8 years experience in Railroad signaling and on-board locomotive equipment industry.
  • Knowledge of CADD (AutoCAD/MicroStation) and reading electrical schematics or blueprints.
  • Successfully demonstrates pioneering or extensive knowledge in a technical or specialty area. Generally, 6-8 years of successful experience in responsibility
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must be organized, self-directed, prioritize and multi-task, work in a team environment and take direction from others.
