An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Installation Supervisor to join our Control Systems team within the Siemens Mobility, Rail Infrastructure business in Chippenham.

Your role, and what you’ll be doing:

As a member of the Control Systems Installation Team, you will plan, manage and carry out Site installation activities as detailed below. You will take a pro-active role in advising others of issues, actions and risks.

What will be my Responsibilities?

  • Act as a Supervisor for site installation teams.
  • Responsible for interpreting design packages and undertaking installation works for Control Systems
  • Organise and plan work to maximise utilisation of resources.
  • Organise and manage own activities and the work undertaken by staff and contractors allocated and to ensure that it is carried out safely, where required.
  • Responsible for managing the personal safety and the administration of self & allocated staff and contractors.
  • Ensure that the briefing of instructions to staff under his control or allocated to him for such purpose is carried out timely.
  • Responsible for checking and certifying time sheets ensuring correct hour booking and appropriation.
  • Responsible for the timekeeping and discipline of staff/Agency workers under his/her control.

What Qualifications, Skills and Experience do I need?

  • Significant experience in railway signalling installation.
  • Experience of Control Systems equipment (VSCS/TDM/Train Describer) desirable 
  • IRSE Installation license (Team Leaders license preferred)
  • Fully conversant with all current testing practices, Health and Safety legislation and standards or NR working Standards.
  • Current PTS qualification
  • SWTH Module 3c qualification is desirable
  • Experience in supervising staff and leading teams.
  • Excellent communications skills, understanding of task time and people management.
  • Proven leadership and management skills gained from managing small to medium sized teams.
  • Must be prepared to workday/night shifts as required by operational circumstances.
  • Full Driving License
