Data Engineer

Job Description

Siemens Healthineers is looking for a talented and motivated person to serve as a Data Engineer within our Data Engineering and Integration team. The person will be a hands-on technical resource to a variety of cross-functional project initiatives to help shape the future of healthcare. The candidate must have a solid background in technology with a focus on data management, data integration, system design and implementation. The ideal candidate will be a highly self-motivated IT professional that enjoys working closely with the business. This person will be inspired by technology and its use in an ever changing, high velocity, fast growing global organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Help to spearhead the company through building a modern data architecture stack
  • Set foundational structures to enable self-service analytics and data democratization
  • Continually explore opportunities for improvement
  • Create ETL pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and integration
  • Help design, build, and maintain enterprise data warehouse, including logical models, data vault, data marts and other related artifacts
  • Design and implement security models for data access control that meet GDPR and various data privacy requirements
  • Perform data profiling to understand data domains, data dependencies and lineage
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including sales, marketing, finance, and IT
  • Existing backend tech stack you will be directly working with:
    • MS SQL Server, Snowflake
    • Airflow, SnapLogic, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, dbt
    • Azure DevOps, CI/CD
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of relevant data engineering experience in the following areas:
    • RDBMS (MSSQL, Postgres, Oracle, etc.)
    • Architecting and building enterprise-scale data warehouses
    • Relational and dimensional data modeling
  • 2+ years of experience with modern BI platforms (Power BI, Qlik Sense, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and the ability to write, test, and optimize SQL queries
  • Familiarity with data governance, data catalog, master data management best practices
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math, or related field
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Cloud Data Warehouse (e.g. Snowflake)
  • Experience with Cloud Database (e.g. Azure SQL Database)
  • Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g. ADF, Blob Storage, Logical Apps)
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow)
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with dbt, dbtvault
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps)
