We are recruiting for a Software Enterprise Sales Specialist for our Grid Software Business Unit. This is a unique opportunity to shape the new business field of Digital Twins for electrical grid operators, co-innovating the next generation of grid management software with customers and partners and help integrate new products into the customer’s IT landscape. 

Siemens is the market leader in grid control and grid simulation. Building on this strong position, we are enhancing our portfolio with new digital offerings of software products and solutions, that connect the OT with the IT world. This digital offering helps our clients manage the fast-paced energy transition that is occurring through new digital twin applications. 

The role will be part of our NextGen Grid Management incubator that leads the development of this new innovative portfolio and launches the new software products and solutions into the market. This agile and global team shapes the Siemens role in the evolving and dynamic market of IoT for network utilities. The team combines a start-up mentality and decision-making velocity with the capabilities and resources of a globally leading company. 

We are looking for someone with a proven track record in software sales ideally selling Cloud and SaaS offerings to utility clients. The ideal candidate is truly customer obsessed, a software native with an ambitious sales attitude, brings an entrepreneurial mindset and thrives in innovative and disruptive markets. 

What part will you play?
  • In your new role, you will lead the sales conversation from the initial C-level pitch to the point of closing the deal for our new innovative software product for DSOs 
  • You will be part of a specialized tiger team to win deals with selected key accounts, working together with a business development, solution architects and regional account management 
  • Initiating and maintaining strong relationships with C-Level at key accounts across Europe will be also part of your responsibilities 
  • You will clearly communicate our Grid Software vision, value proposition and key differentiators to C-level customers 
  • You will cultivate strong internal relations with Siemens regional businesses across Europe 
  • You will partner with Product Management and lead the design of the digital buyer’s journey and customer experience to spearhead the transition to SaaS and cloud 
  • You will be responsible for the development of market-, region-, and customer-specific sales strategies and you will support the development of a scalable sales approach e.g. sales enablement, targeted campaigning etc. 
What you need to make real what matters.
  • You have a proven track record and long years of experience in selling software, ideally to utility customers (SaaS / Cloud) 
  • You have strong interpersonal skills with a sales-oriented mindset as well as strong IT background or aptitude (not necessarily detailed technical expertise), ideally in the electrical utility sector 
  • Your set of skills include deep understanding and passion for the electrical utility sector, ideally with a relevant external network and connections in the European utility market 
  • In addition, you possess a combination of technical acumen coupled with the ability to communicate the technical elements in a simple, effective manner 
  • You are good in establishing trust with users and to influence key decision makers in the sales cycle 
  • You are characterized as passionate and self-starter with a can-do attitude. Eager to jump in and get things done but don't get flustered in a fast-paced and often changing environment 
  • Moreover, you must be able to travel approximately 30% of your working time 
  • You graduated in a technical University Degree or equivalent
