Main Task:
· Global customer projects in the Divisions Cargo Handling and Parcel Sortation;
· Ensure feasibility of material handling system solutions with technical customer / contract requirements from bid phase requirements analysis through customer acceptance across all engineering trades;
· Lead and coordinate all engineering trades (e.g. Steelworks, Mechanical, Electrical, PLC and IT) contributing with their works to a project;
· Reports in customer project to Project Manager;
· Flow down requirements / technical changes to trade-specific sub-project responsible.
Description of tasks during Bid Phase:
· Verify and confirm Material Flow solution provided by System Architect for technical executability;
· Ensure correct requirements specification for non-standard components used in the layout forming a base for procurement (SCM) or component development (PLM / R&D);
· Manage component development alignment of customer project with PLM / R&D and third party offer evaluation for special components with SCM;
· Support bid management in proper allocation of technical tender requirements and ensure their flow down as well as changes hereto to trade-specific subproject ENG responsible;
· Organize / participate in technical reviews for offer scope;
· Ensure correct quantity estimates in hours in alignment with bid and to be offered execution schedule;
· Provide Bid Project Manager and Scheduler with a viable Engineering works sequence / phasing / zoning;
· Support Project Manager Integration in his responsibility to come up with a viable acceptance plan;
· Align Engineering efforts estimated with to be offered execution schedule and secure results in LOA document “resource plan”;
· Verification of Engineering resource availability for project execution in close alignment with head of Engineering and Engineering department heads;
· Cross-check implications from resource concept (e.g. Hub involvement) with BA OP team regarding PE avoidance, transfer pricing regulations, delegation concepts etc;
· Continuously ensure proper documentation and change management regarding all ENG quotes incl. necessary Mgmt. approvals/clearances (e.g. prior to LoA meeting; throughout calculation/quoting updates during negotiation phase).
Description of tasks during Execution Phase:
· Take over and verify Material Flow solution provided after sales negotiations and contract signature for technical executability;
· Ensure correct requirements specification for non-standard components used in the layout forming a base for procurement (SCM) or component development (PLM / R&D);
· Manage continuous alignment with PLM / R&D and SCM for contracted functionality and correct documentation of non-standard components;
· Ensure flow down of technical contract requirements / contract changes to trade-specific sub-project responsible;
· Organize / participate in Engineering reviews for Engineering of supply scope; minute review results (along with trade-specific sub-project responsible);
· Ongoing monitoring and documentation of quantity and scope changes (along with trade-specific sub-project responsible) as well as continuous review of resulting cost development in corporation with BA OP team;
· Monitor and report Engineering works progress in schedule, progress and cost (along with trade-specific sub-project responsible);
· Provide Project Manager and Scheduler with a viable Engineering works status, Engineering progress and Engineering EAC estimate;
· Ensure Engineering resource availability in alignment with Engineering (department) heads and maintain Engineering resource plan for project;
· Hand over to Project Manager Integration for acceptance during / after commissioning phase.
Applicant's Profile:
· Academic formation in the Engineer area;
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar functions;
· Experience in project business;
· International mobility;
· Experience in working in international teams is a plus;
· Analytical skills;
· Availability to Travel 20% (or more) of the time.
