Job Description

Siemens Mobility Limited, Rail Infrastructure Strategy & Business Development team, UK leaders in high technology railway control, command, signalling and electrification solutions that deliver passenger experience and operational efficiency to the travelling public in a sustainable and safe way. You will report to the Head of Strategy Support & Marketing, and your stakeholders are in the Strategy & Business Development and SMO Corporate Communications teams.

Job purpose
Your work will play a key role in driving the development of our thriving, high-technology business through the management and execution of strong, creative, targeted and innovative marketing activities based on clearly focused campaigns. You will run a team that manages these campaigns across the business, ensuring that the different needs of each part of the company are met to support sales and bidding activities. 

Key Responsibilities
  • To lead, organise, develop and coach the marketing team to deliver high class campaigns to share our messages with all of our stakeholders.
  • To own the interface with the Sales team, your key stakeholders, to identify, develop and coordinate specified marketing campaigns.
  • Follow the Marketing & Comms Campaign development process from planning and alignment with broader SMO and business programmes, agreeing target audiences, messaging and channels to market. You and your team will then develop and deliver communications plans, tracking progress and measuring outcomes.
  • Play a leading role in running the Marketing & Comms Forum, the team brought together to ensure that all marketing activities across the business are carried out in a collaborative, controlled and agreed way, including weekly and monthly meetings to track and progress activities.
  • Ensure that we have appropriate attendance at events, exhibitions, conferences and seminars, ensuring consistency of messaging and branding, where appropriate. This will specifically involve leading your team to ensure that there is always appropriate marketing support at these events.
  • Work with the SMO Corporate Communications team to create, or source, content to support specific internal and external communications programmes, such as Team Brief, Yammer Posts and LinkedIn articles, in each case directly related to our campaigns.
  • Using your skills and experience to ensure that your marketing team supports the Sales team through the maintenance of up to date presentation packs, and other materials when required to support customer meetings and site visits.
  • Managing your team to monitor competitor marketing activity and messaging, ensuring that we are ensuring strong market visibility and positive, accurate and timely sharing of our messages.

  • The development of a capable and highly successful marketing team that has a strong network across the business, a good reputation for delivery, and a clearly demonstrable track record in getting our messages across to our stakeholders. In particular demonstrable development of the team’s individual capabilities, confidence and professional development.
  • Successful creation, management and delivery of innovative marketing campaigns – measured by following the Marketing & Comms Campaign development process, stakeholder feedback, budget management and clear value for money campaign outcomes.
  • Close and successful working relationships with the Sales team, Marketing & Comms Forum and SMO Corporate Communications team to ensure the successful delivery of campaigns identified by the business.
  • Commitment to personal development in marketing, communications, collaboration and virtual team coordination.

Requirements:
  • Wide experience in marketing in a business-to-business environment.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in marketing is desirable.
  • You should have, or be working towards, a CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing, or be able to demonstrate experience that is equivalent.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, particularly in terms of managing and developing teams.
  • A wide experience of delivering marketing through social media, events, press and publications.
  • Excellent written language skills, an eye for detail and a proven track record in planning, tracking, delivering and measuring success.
