Job Description:
  • In context of an ambitious expansion plan, we are looking for a CFD-engineer to join our Application Specialists team.
  • This individual will be part of a team of technical experts within the Fluids & Thermal Solution Domain within the Siemens Digital Industries Software (DISW) organization which works closely with product management, sales, customer support, Business Development and marketing to make the Simcenter-CFD platform the leading solution for our CFD-applications (STAR-CCM+, SPHFlow, FLOEFD, Flotherm and others).
  • This role holds a global technical responsibility and requires leadership for the application areas relating to IC engines and fuel cells.
  • You will be responsible for generating technical materials, such as workflow & process documentation to support Simcenter product sales, leading complex technical engagements with customers and prospects, managing internal and external technical relationships, and providing business and technical input into the product roadmap.
Job Functions:
  • Establish authority as a global technical expert for Simcenter STAR-CCM+ for IC engines and fuel cells industrial applications.
  • Proactively drive worldwide enablement activities, both internal (Siemens) and external (customers) to generate maximum visibility of our portfolio.
  • Lead and manage technical engagements and collaborations.
  • Create, maintain and distribute technical material, including but not limited to, benchmarks, journal/conference papers, best practice guidelines, technical/sales presentations, webinars, internal trainings, demonstration cases.
  • Collaborate with industry managers for Go-To-Market campaigns, sales and support leaders to expedite technical sales, product management and development to enhance software performance and quality.
  • Provide advanced technical back-up as the key expert to the global sales and support organizations, but also build the expertise of engineers within the organization, enabling them to support the Fluid & Thermal Solution Doman CFD applications.
  • As a subject matter expert, it is expected to know and communicate the market trends and competitive landscape to guide both the product development and sales.
  • Required education and focus Bachelors, Masters or PhD in mechanical/automotive/aerospace engineering (or related) with a focus on numerical methods for CFD-applications.
Required knowledge, skills, or expertise:
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Aerospace Engineering or related domain with CFD or numerical background, Master degree preferred
  • Self-driven individual, understanding the requirements to operate and succeed in a growth-oriented community
  • Strong CAE & CAD knowledge in common market leading software tools
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Good coordination and communications skills in a global environment within different cultures
  • Strong English language skills to drive business conversations are essential
Preferred knowledge, skills, or expertise:
  • Industrial work experience 5+ years in related industry preferred
  • Experience in Simcenter CFD applications, preferably with STAR-CCM+ and its related applications i.e. In-cylinder solution and Design Manager
  • Knowledge of CAD packages such as Siemens NX and/or other commercial CAD tools
Role
  • Full time 40h
  • Location: Global
  • Entry level: graduate / post-graduate / industrial work experience beneficial
  • Travel: required up to 20% (depending on global pandemic situation)
