Material Coordinator- Rolling Stock- Chicago

Job Description

Siemens Mobility Division provides efficient and integrated transportation of people and goods by rail and road – including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, intelligent traffic systems, and service. We design and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission and signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.

Logistics Materials Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled professional to coordinate the movement of materials at our Field Site in Chicago, IL. You will be responsible to set the accurate demand, purchase and track of material. You will handle and coordinate repairs of failed components, you will demand and account for modification materials and spare part inventory. You will make sure that our locomotives and our technicians have the right parts on hand to provide a high customer satisfaction with a high availability of our locomotives.

  • Coordinate material support in the Commissioning and Warranty phases.
  • Maintain open communication between Material Headquarter in Sacramento.
  • Directs affairs between the Customer and Field Site to maintain positive relationships.
  • Develop and champion open dialogue with Vendors.
  • Keeps updated records of failed components at the Field Site.
  • Contributes to Logistics Team administration through interactive collaboration.
  • Works cross-functionally with all departments at Siemens Mobility, Inc.
  • Arrange same-day deliveries and expedite shipments as demand requires.
  • Processes paperwork necessary to move materials from Sacramento to various locations.
  • Maintain records of materials in repair and parts owed to Production and Customers.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Required education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
  • Required professional experience: Previous experience in logistics coordination.
  • Experience with JDE, SalesForce, and Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Ability to travel to the various Field Sites across the United States.
  • Knoweledge of Siemens Mobility light rail and locomotive platforms.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • Preferred experience working in a corporate setting.
  • Preferred experience working with multi-million dollar contracts.
  • Interpersonal skills for maintaining large sets of data.
  • Ability to adapt to constant change and implement new processes.
  • Ability to work through adversity in high pressure situations.
