Siemens Large Drives has an immediate opening for a Senior Lean Improvement Engineer. Your primary responsibility will be to get results though continuous improvement and application of Lean principles into various areas of the business such as Engineering, Project Management, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.

What you will be doing:
  • Recommending and implementing process improvements with a focus towards optimizing labor, resources, and systems, while creating flow and reducing waste with Lean Methods
  • Directly impacting and improving existing areas of operations for increased quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost savings
  • Gathering and analyzing data to supervise, improve and measure processes support critical initiatives and drive results to targets
  • Facilitating and implementing value stream mapping efforts across various departments
  • Identifying ways to reduce Manufacturing/Production inefficiencies caused by upstream pre-production processes
  • Assisting with training staff on new development processes and technology
  • Leading and encouraging continuous improvement by setting standards, leading by example, and coaching others
What you will need to be successful:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with Six Sigma/LEAN concepts required
  • 5+ years successful lean implementation experience with proven record of sustainable results
  • Prior knowledge and practical experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting with a strong focus in Lean Manufacturing operations
  • Experience driving continuous improvement by identifying and eliminating waste using applicable tools and analysis
  • Experience applying and analyzing data to follow processes and conduct problem-solving
  • Ability to coordinate activities across multiple subject areas
  • Strong communication skills—written, verbal and the ability to listen intently
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10% to other local locations
Preferred skills:
  • Self-motivated with the ability to “think on your feet” and a “can do” approach to work
  • Proactive and creative with the ability to be a hands-on change agent
  • Six Sigma green or black belt preferred
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment & communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and competence
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, computer and basic business
