Overview 

The product manager for AC parking systems and stations is responsible for developing the NAM portfolio of eMobility AC charging applications for large open space, underground and storey parking systems. Applying our leading 1-phase charging product platform in an optimized way for installers, facility managers and operators. Efficiently integrating it with the electrical system in LV distribution boards, busways, posts as well as charging management and payment systems.

He or she is part of the global AC Product Management team which drives the worldwide AC business forward. Main tasks are setting the requirements for user, owner and installer optimized modular charging systems for parking applications.

The product manager reports into the global head of AC charging based out of the US and closely collaborates with his counterpart based out of Europe for the European and IEC markets as well as it’s key business partners including R&D, Sales, and SCM.

Essential Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • In your new role you are part of the global team for the development and the realization of AC chargers for eMobility, and you are working within the global AC PLM team to create and adopt our AC charger portfolio
  • You will help managing our AC charger portfolio with a focus on large and modular parking system applications for openspace, underground and storey parkings in multi-tenant, commercial and enterprise scenarios in North America
  • You take care to gather the needed market- and customer requirements and own the product and technology requirement specification
  • Defines prioritization of KPIs both at development and operational level. Product portfolio backlog robust prioritization and management along the product lifecycle with the proper balance within business requirements, technical feasibility and sustainability, and the priority along the different portfolio products
  • Identifies bottlenecks and misconception along the product lifecycle to bring continuous improvement in the products
  • You actively seek information about the market & technology developments, participate in standardization & customer meetings, helping Siemens to reach and maintain a market leading position for AC Charging.
  • Identifies, defines, implements, and drives improved processes to provide the best external experience for the customer while holding internal colleagues accountable.
  • Analyzes effectiveness of current policies and establishes future direction for functional policies and programs to support future business needs and strategies.
  • Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures; displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems..
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

Required Skills:

  • Well-versed knowledge of Product management, Product Development processes and procedures, including milestone planning and project execution..
  • Deep expertise in LV electrical systems preferably also busways
  • Entrepreneurial mind able to share partnerships with extension partners
  • Ability to work in flexible and highly commercially focused ways to achieve results
  • Knowledge of the Siemens organization, businesses, and processes.
  • Experience in a customer facing role, including innovations roadmap planning.
  • Strong professional judgement and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organization skills.
  • Efficient time management capabilities.

Required Education or Experience:

  • MS in related technical discipline e.g. mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years of successful experience in a directly related field e.g. R&D, product management and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of SAP, CRM tools, and COMPAS.
