As Export Control Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing advice and collaborating with individuals at all levels within the business to enable adherence to the Siemens Export Control Program and all applicable export regulations. You are the interface for assigned businesses (legal entities, etc.) to communicate internal export control requirements and ensure adherence to obligations under applicable law and the Siemens Internal Control Program (“ICP”).

Join our team as “Export Control Business Partner (m/f/d)” in Germany, Belgium, Ireland or other European locations.


You’ll help our customers drive digital innovation by
  • Monitor new developments and changes for Export Control and evaluate potential impacts on the business.
  • Ensure requirements for EX Clauses in contracts is communicated to the business and that a monitoring process is in place to monitor adherence. Any waivers to EX clauses should be accompanied by documented risk assessments
  • Responsible for regular communication and training to the assigned businesses on relevant export control topics.
  • Identify any EX risks in the business and work to mitigate any risks
  • Oversight for export control spot checks, and work with the team and the business to remediate issues identified. 
  • Manage any Export control related M&A activity for the team
  • Involvement in the determination of export control classifications (ECCN, AL, other) for software and hardware products.
  • Assist to perform de-minimis calculations to identify products that are subject to the EAR.
  • Review and resolve export control escalations.
  • Document and implement technology control plans as necessary.
  • Coordinate with other members of the Siemens Software Export Control team, as appropriate, to escalate and resolve export control related matters. 
  • Export License application support for the business
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Report to management on Export Control related topics relevant to the businesses supported. 
  • Resolve Export Control escalations and execute approvals for certain higher risk transactions.

What do you need to realize what matters
  • You have completed a primary degree or equivalent in Management or a related field with master’s degree preferred 
  • You bring long term experience in Export control / trade compliance or in related areas such as Customs, Logistics etc.
  • Demonstrated understanding of US and EU export control regulations
  • Knowledge of Export Control classification processes
  • Proven project management skills, including analytics, metric measurement and continuous monitoring expectations and deliverables 
  • You bring experience of dealing with Export Control tools
  • Experience with performing trainings in relevant export control topics including training of export control associates 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • You are capable of working and influencing remotely and across country lines
  • You have an excellent command of the English language. Other language skills will be considered as a plus
