What you will do for Siemens Smart Infrastructure:

Our Smart Buildings help to build efficient, safe, responsive, and responsible environments. Our aim isn’t just about improving buildings; it’s about crafting perfect places that improve peoples’ lives. This position leads a team responsible for project management, system installation, and commissioning activities. You will manage the revenue and gross margin to targets by controlling job costs and executing projects on time. This is an entry level management position in Solution Operations. This position advises the activities at specific customer sites, with a total revenue responsibility of between three to five million (3-5M).

Responsibilities:
  • Manages staff including Project Managers and Technicians in Iowa and Nebraska related to Fire Alarm and Security start-ups
  • Position will perform Project Management/account management duties/ and assist with active field start-ups
  • Manages up to 10 direct reports.
  • Travel Required between Des Moines, IA and Omaha, NE weekly with potential travel to Kansas City, MO for a short period
  • Plan, prioritize, direct and control all operations activities to assure profitable growth. Advise management on local operations planning including resource hiring, development and allocation, financial forecasting, monitoring and issue resolution planning.
  • Manage projects P&L including revenue and gross margin to achieve monthly and annual business plans. Supervise project status and control job costs to maintain margins.
  • Direct and supervise the development of solutions work to insure customer commitments are met within the estimated dollars. Lead all aspects of supervision of all construction work and personnel on assigned jobs. Ensure schedules are maintained and work proceeds in accordance with agreement requirements and customer expectations. Determine resource needs (e.g. staffing, tools) and provide any corresponding documentation.
  • Provide technical and operational support for the sales teams including proper pricing and scope of work definition. Communicate regularly with customers/project managers/technicians through all phases of the work we perform. Build and maintain an effective operations organization committed to customer and employee satisfaction and profitable growth.
  • Ensure the accurate implementation of all company policies, procedures and efficiency tools where applicable. Maintain current knowledge of regulatory laws, changes and requirements and ensure compliance. Advise and implement industry/field best practices to improve products, applications and services.
  • Represents Siemens in industry associations, professional organizations and affiliations and develops relationships with customer, contractors and community leaders
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience supervising teams; 2+ years preferred
  • Experience with project management; 5+ years preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial reports and ability to implement cost controls.
  • Familiarity or experience with Fire Alarm and Security Systems
  • Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills must be able to handle multiple tasks and duties effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
  • NICET Level II Fire Alarm Certification required or must successfully test for NICET Level II Fire Alarm Certification within 12 months of assuming position.
  • Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing
  • Individual must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan
