Siemens Digital Industries Software is looking for an Application Support Engineer to strengthen our operations in the Germany area. The position is based in Munich but can be remote across Germany and focuses on CapitalLD (formally known as LDorado) as part of our Customer Support organization. The role of Application Support Engineer ensures the technical success of the customers using CapitalLD solutions, provision of technical advice and knowledge to existing customers for product and application related issues and development of understanding of customer business requirements.

About the role

An Application Support Engineer is expected to work closely with current and potential customers in order to understand their engineering processes and propose solution methodologies that would create positive business outcomes and help customers meet their test objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively help customers quickly become productive with CapitalLD (formally known as LDorado)
  • Introduce and drive the adoption of tools, features, enhancements, services, thus contributing to the continuous growth of customer support business
  • Assist account teams with struggling customers
  • Provide 1st line support for all tools in the CapitalLD tool suite
  • Interface with customers and internal colleagues and provide feedback in both directions
  • Engage with existing customers to understand and provide support and guidance for their design and manufacturing methodology and challenges
  • Deliver training for supported products
  • Regularly participate in meetings and conference calls with customers
  • Help customers to achieve project deadlines by providing support by phone, by electronic means or on-site
  • Work with the account team to develop solutions for customer issues and take an active role to communicate these solutions to the customer
  • Provide pro-active customer feedback into product marketing and engineering to drive improvement and future evolution of the product line
  • Actively participate in marketing and sales activities such as, workshops, seminars, etc.
  • Provide customer advocacy and product supportability to influence product direction and quality
  • Covering support focused on EMEA and offering worldwide assistance when required
Skills and Experience
  • Broad knowledge in the electrical system & wire harness domain
  • Strong understanding of the whole process of design, manufacture and service of harnesses
  • Experience with CapitalLD tools or other electrical system design tools/flows
  • Fluent in English & German
  • Ability to manage workload priorities and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent in problem solving and analytical reasoning
  • Thriving on customer-oriented communication
  • Teamwork oriented
