We are looking for a Software Architect, to be hired in our division Smart Infrastructure Distribution System with a permanent contract in Milan.

Your Challenge

The candidate will be responsible for:

  • ensuring the achievement of objectives for all the global initiatives we have to manage
  • understanding the customers’ needs to design the best solution that fits their requirements
  • translating the software architecture into design and code
  • guaranteeing project execution from a technical point of view, acting as a focal point for all stakeholders
  • guaranteeing the maintenance and evolution of the legacy solutions, acting as release manager and coordinator for all the teams involved
  • proposing, taking, and documenting Architectural Decisions based on functional and non-functional requirements, according to the established architectural and design guidelines
  • considering technical boundary conditions (e.g. non-functional requirements) as well as economic aspects
  • supporting make-or-buy decisions and identify off-the-shelf components that can be used
  • working in an Agile Team and support other team members in their learning journey
  • following technical developments and technological trends regarding software development

What you need to bring with you

You should already have significant experience in complex IT organizations and multi-cultural environments, together with:

  • Successfully completed university degree in computer science or a comparable qualification.
  • Able to build relationships and establish trust, respect, competence and confidence effectively and quickly;
  • Very pro-active and able to identify and tackle problems across multiple platforms and pipelines;
  • Open mindset and oriented towards continuous training
  • Excellent communication skills to manage multi-cultural situations in complex organizations
  • Good problem solving approach and flexibility in managing team dynamics
  • Professional experience in the field of software architecture and design of complex software systems.
  • Excellent with agile software development processes such as SCRUM, and Kanban: SAFe is a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge in the Java Ecosystem and should have sound knowledge in Javascript / Typescript.
  • Working experience with Microservice based architecture, ideally based on Java SpringBoot and Kubernetes, is a plus
  • Experience with event-driven architecture, SQL and NoSQL-Databases, Data streaming and Message brokers.
  • Used to working in modern software development and infrastructure environments such as Git, Gitlab, Docker and Kubernetes. 
  • Good knowledge of English, Spanish should be a plus
