Overview:

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the engineering projects for the factory, including products design, R&D and testing, manufactory processes support in our Heber Springs, Arkansas location, a manufacturing and distribution facility primarily focused on medium-voltage overhead outdoor power distribution products and solutions. Outdoor products are essential components of medium-voltage distribution grids. SIEMENS' comprehensive outdoor portfolio of switching devices is designed for a wide variety of applications and climatic conditions. Type-tested reliability as well as long electrical life and mechanical robustness help to minimize operation costs while increasing resiliency of medium-voltage smart grids. Solutions for wildfire mitigation available on select products.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Take the lead on projects assigned to create all documents for customer approval and manufacturing of Automated Switch Products. Typical documents include:
    • Drawings related to control cabinets, including interior panels and layouts, wiring harnesses, device mounting, etc.
    • Provide factory support documents to ensure product delivered meets standards and customer requirements
  • Utilize knowledge of various electrical and mechanical CAD software packages to complete project work and drive efficiency with process improvements, preference to AutoCAD.
  • Develop knowledge of product and applicable codes and standards to complete required documents.
  • Be a technical project leader taking full ownership of deliverables.
  • Understand that job descriptions change over time. You are expected to maintain competence, awareness, and compliance.
  • Treat all Siemens information and customer information in a confidential manner.
  • Understand and efficiently use Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2+ years professional experience using CAD software
  • Ability to analyze customer’s technical specifications regarding the application of protection and control systems and apply appropriate product solutions to meet the customers’ expectations in cost-effective and timely manner as well as adhering to required codes and standards.
  • Ability to read, understand, and evaluate electrical schematics to identify errors or potential improvements.
  • Strong work ethic and willing to do what it takes to get the job done on time and with high quality.
  • Ability to multitask and manage large workloads and business demands.
  • Strong written, verbal, mathematical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stay transparent about project status and planned completion dates.
  • An ideal candidate is detailed orientated and able to embrace a culture of quality.
  • Experience with VBA, C, or other programming languages.

Considered a plus but not required:

  • Experience with using programming to drive efficiency in projects.
  • Experience working with electrical distribution products and systems.
  • Experience designing programmable logic controller systems including input, output, digital, and analog circuits.
  • Experience with circuit board design and circuit board modification.
  • Electrical CAD design/drafting experience with protection and control.
  • Ability to create, convert & modify drawings with AutoCAD Electrical or Engineering Base software. Preference given to experience with Engineering Base.
  • Experience working with an ERP system, preference given for experience with SAP.
  • A Master’s Degree in Engineering is a plus with extra consideration given if degree concentration is in the area of power systems.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL and NEMA standards.
  • Experience with electrical design for automation cabinets, preference given to experience with Siemens products.
  • Experience with using SalesForce.com.
