This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a COMMODITY MANAGER SPECIALIST 3 you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the purchasing activities with logistics and commodity management departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner. 
  • Developing pricing models that allow Siemens to compete in the global marketplace and has profound negotiation skills.
  • Partnering with assigned complex and medium volume commodities/suppliers.
  • Performing the functions of international market analysis, internal Siemens demand analysis, global demand pooling, supplier management, negotiation of prices generating savings, contractual terms and conditions, to maximize contribution to operating profit and business objectives. 
  • Completing supplier analysis in order to acquire the best suppliers and to guarantee an optimum supply chain; performs supplier evaluation process and works on improving the supplier performance by setting up development plans. 
  • Maintaining regular contact with internal/external interface partners to recognize developments and exert influence accordingly. 
  • Completing complex reports of defined information and figures to make results transparent and controls purchasing activities on a results-oriented basis. 
  • Participating in the development of communication and deployment of procurement strategies. 
  • Key Independently performs full range of standard work for the professional field.
  • Refers complex, unusual problems to others. 
  • Identifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations. 
  • Strategic Procurement experience in handling of direct material demands for service organization would be beneficial.

  • Completes supplier analysis in order to acquire the best suppliers and to guarantee an optimum supply chain; assists in the coordination of the annual supplier evaluation process and executes formal supplier development plans.
  • Maintains regular contact with internal/external interface partners to recognize developments and exert influence accordingly.
  • Completes complex reports of defined information and figures to make results transparent and controls purchasing activities on a results-oriented basis.
  • Assists in the development of communication and deployment of procurement strategies

Required skills to have for the success of this role

  • BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certification may be required in some areas
  • Good knowledge of Supply Chain Management, specifically of Strategic 
  • Procurement, Strategic Supplier Management and Logistics
  • Excellent negotiation skills;
  • Profound analytical skills;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Good leadership, organizational and coordination skills;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Skills Experience
  • 5-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration  of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
  • Experience in Logistics and Strategic Procurement required .Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
